Re: Where are they Now?

Greetings all, I have just bought 424 AMX - the ex Pat Kennett 1953/54 "interim" Plus 4. I am, obviously, rather chuffed to have a Plus 4 with such an interesting history, and one that is so well illustrated. My 3 sons are chuffed that we "FINALLY DAD!!!" have a morgan that we ca...

Re: Information sought on Plus 4 Reg. no.: VLD 2, now 235 HU

I was at the meeting at Croft where the car was "written off" - it was the Battle of Britian race meeting. As to period racing, I'll have a trawl through jim tucker's notes and archive, and pictures, see if I can dig anything up in there.

Re: Where are they Now?

Hello All - has anyone noticed that the 4 seat Le Mans replica EVR 804 is in the Coys auction on 27th April at Ascott Race course? It looks lovely in the photograph in their press release. Just thought I'd mention it.....

Re: Where are they Now?

Ref Leigh - Eddie Hall drove solo post was in his Bentley. Louis Rossier "shared" with his son, Jean-Louis, and only let the lad drive for 3 laps - enough time for a loo break, a cup of coffee and a banana! They won in the Talbot-Lago that year.....

Re: The Jim Tucker Trophy Tribute Race.

Hello to all!
I am so sorry that I could not be there!

Delighted that those who made it enjoyed the event. Adrian is someone I introduced to Jim personally, as with Barry, so, fabulous result!

Let me know if you want it to happen annually or bi-annually?

Cheers,

Guy

Re: The Jim Tucker Trophy Tribute Race.

Hi all - Barry SS, our UK organiser, has asked for "shows of intent" - cash not necessary now, but I do need to let him know! I believe we race on Saturday. Thanks those who have sent me paperwork - we need to hit all who raced last time, so, please, spread the word!
Best,
Guy

Re: The Jim Tucker Trophy Tribute Race.

Hi Barry, I well remember you flying around the Wilaston Circuit at the Manx Classic! The 1971 date was chosen because Jim hung up his helmet at the end of the 1971 season, not coming back to racing until the 1990's when his car had become a "classic"! BUT - given Jim enjoyed your "Mo...

Re: Where are they Now?

To clarify a few things ref- Jim Tucker's car and mentions on here. Jim's two "Big" races were both at Brands. in 1965 and 1966. In 1965 he ran in the famous "Guards 1000" - or "Double 500 " race. There were lots of Morgans in the entry list - Lawrencetune (slr - TOK 25...

Re: Where are they Now?

Here's another one for you all -

Where is TKL 859?

I have a picture of it racing at Brands in the 1960's, with number 85 on the door, and a be-spectacled driver up. High-Coweled, on SUs - hole cut in bonnet side for them.

Pip Pip!
