Re: From the Archives

Harvey Postlethwaite did a little more than ".... race Mallocks, design Formula 1 cars (Hesketh) and die 10 years ago.." He was regarded as the Adrian Newey of his day, designing successful cars at Hesketh, Wolf (debut winner with Jody Scheckter), Ferrari, Tyrrell and setting out the basis...

Re: Motor Sport Magazine

Richard As you say an interesting article. His career involved a fantastic array of cars. I see his Morgan entry was nobbled by those dastardly Triumph people at Le Mans in 1961. A most unpleasant lot of upstarts if I might say so!! I wouldn't have anything to do with them if I was you. Dave McDonal...

Re: Donington

Donington - Adroit Group That all sounds very strange. Steve Watton (Adroit Contracts Director and Thoroughbred Sportscars competitor in a TVR and Lotus Elan) was reported in "Construction News" publication recently as saying that now they had brought the circuit back up to standard, and i...

Touch Wood

I have a hardback copy of Touch Wood c.1990 with additional material by Doug Nye. I would be happy to loan this out but I am VERY particular about the condition that it comes back in.

Re: Donington Renewed

From what I have seen, the 7th March announcement will be at a general Donington Parade day when there will be a number of events on, including classic car and motorbike shows, childrens attractions, an autojumble, discounted entry to the grand prix car museum and a chance to view the track conditio...

Re: Donington Renewed

Chris The photos that you posted are from last summer. Whether or not they represent what is still to put back or not I don't know. I have seen a similar figure to the £660,000 that Bob Bull mentions being bandied about. In Civil Engineering terms that is not a particularly large undertaking, assumi...

Hey, you're only supposed to use the posting once.

Re: British Grand Prix

To use other Buddy Holly connections, let's hope that Donington will "Not Fade Away" and that the Wheatcroft family , even without Tom, will say "That'll be the Day." Let's all hope that Donington can be succesfully resurrected. I am sure that like Katy it is many people's favour...

Brilliant News for Silverstone and at least the UK keeps its Grand Prix.
What a pity it was necessary to destroy Donington to achieve it !!

Re: On the road

A "Spy in the Sky" concept smacks of Totalitarianism, something that we should all rise up against in unison. We need our own Winston Smith to fight the good fight before this becomes the norm everywhere. An organisation with a name like Curmudgeonly Eurosceptics Anonymous is one I would h...
