Re: 1950 series 1 hood frame
Mary ,
I am puzzled by this , I hosted the 2 photos on a website (Flickr) and posted the urls to them , but nothing came up. Is there a trick I am missing?

Re: Another Find?
Greg My pal John Merton who is a lurker on this forum asked me to pass on the following information for you: On this dipstick the flange on the dipstick knob, an inch down from the top, sits on the top of the tube to the sump. The "high" oil mark is 12 and three eighths down from the botto...

Sam , These photos were taken by John Merton in Oz of his Series 1 hood frame. He asked me to post them here as he is normally just a lurker on this site. Does this answer your questions? If you email me OG I can send you them as jpegs files https://www.flickr.com/photos/23901109@N07/34199122102/in/...

Dave Saunter RIP
Guys Apologies if this a repost but I cannot find it mentioned anywhere else here. I know many of us who raced in the 60/70/80s will have known Dave Saunter, a Mog racer who took part in the Snetterton 24 hour races and was frequently at AngleMog meetings, who has recently succumbed to cancer. I was...

Re: Where are they Now?
Regarding Choc Ices, John Macdonald acquired the car from Gerry Marshal's garage in Finchley, but I couldn't say which year, I am guessing late 70s. I went to have a look at it on his behalf, and of course it had the "obligatory" letter from Chris Lawrence trying to add authenticity to its...

Just as well that these tougher scrutineers were not around when Lawrence was racing. He would rarely have got out of the paddock!

Re: SLR Morgan Badge - Help Please
Andy D This one is puzzling me too , "Clubrennen" simply means club races (in German) , but Lignieres is a very small town in the departament of Cher in central France. However there is also a small town in Switzerland with same name, and here perhaps German would have more likely to have ...

Re: Information sought on Plus 4 Reg. no.: VLD 2, now 235 HU
I do have a bit more information about this car , and I have already been contacted by Peter Mulberry about it. There was an intermediate owner Mike Ashley Brown (not sure if it was hyphenated) , I suspect he bought it from Brian Haslam? He raced it with a 2.5 litre TR engine throughout the late 60s...

Re: Where are they Now?
Choc Ices When I saw Choc Ices at Gerry Marshalls place it was hardly recognisable as the car that John and Jan developed. It was certainly BRG, with black leather, but it had disc wheels, no hard top , and it did not have the air of a well used competition car. It was just too tidy. Gerry Marshall ...

Re: Where are they Now?
3 FLH I came across this car at Gerry Marshall's garage (Hendon? Muswell Hill?) in the late 70s when I went to look at a different +4. This was the car that has since evolved into "Choc Ices" on behalf of John Macdonald. At that time it had 3 FLH had a low line body , hardtop and Borrani w...

John Mac's +4 , 550 DXN , is now by Jeff Stowe and was entered at the BDC a year or so back. Not sure about the number plate though , I think it might have carried PGP for a while.
Andy (the other one)
PS Nostalgia ain't what it used to be.

Have you tried <<Jochem.Kentgens@raet.com>> ?
He sent a reply to me (also about BDC Silverstone photos) from that one about a couple of months ago.
