Re: Le Mans Classic 2023

Plateau 1 Race 3 Sunday A perfect celebration of Phil's life with all Morgans completing 6 laps. Simon in DLJ was the first british Morgan home closely followed by Graeme and third was Leigh. Simon did not see Graeme alhough only a few seconds seperating them as he said to me "Graeme was runni...

Re: Le Mans Classic 2023

Plateau 1 Race 2 Saturday evening The devastating news from the UK that Phil lost his struggle with life. Perhaps a fitting tribute was made by Graeme in bringing Phils Series 1 Morgan home ahead of all the other Morgans. Simon and Leigh followed Graeme home all completing another 6 laps.....the ve...

All completed 6 laps. The French had the fastest time recorded at 153.9 kph...some 15 kph quicker than Graeme in my...

Re: I'm Sure I Know That Face.

I also have finished reading the Lance Macklin story......more of a novel than a biography. But still enjoyable. It made me re visit Nixon's book "mon ami mate" and also Stirling Moss, Alf Francis and Mike Hawthorn's biogs....much more factual (?) and less embellished. Le Mans start "...

2002 The First LMC – 21 years ago Just 2 Morgans were entered, in the first L e Mans Classic, John Clarke and Chris Acklam in the 38 series 1 “ SL2490”, Rick Bourne and Chris Lawrence in the 1962 +4 Super Sports, “TOK258”. These are my recollections written later in 2002 and published in Miscellany,...

reverse wire edged bonnet

Mentioned in passing ""I caught up with Andy Garlick last time I was in the UK and he gave me the original reverse wired edge bonnets for my car". The year of the car was 1955. This is all new to me, I didn't realise that MMC did this.....or did they? Perhaps someone more knowlegable ...
