Re: Morgan +4 New Year Lunch 2015 - Leathern Bottle?

Hi Simon (as unofficial Sec. of the Meeting)
I'm hoping to get along this year as long as it doesn't clash with having my "fuel pump" rewired.
Roger, - will be nice to see you there, - and everyone else of course

Re: Wanted Rover R380 gearbox

The Rover SD1 uses the earlier LT77 'box. I'm after the later 1992-on R380 type. Rimmers do not have 2-wheel drive one.
Thanks anyway John.

Re: Wanted Rover R380 gearbox

Unfortunately Landrover R380's are 4 wheel drive with totally different output shaft and rear cover - with transfer 'box !
Need a 2 wheel drive from Morgan, TVR etc

Re: FXD at Le Mans Classic 2010

Good luck to all you boys at Le Mans.
Seems the weather there is the same as Spa last weekend, - 37 c with 50 c track temp ! Hottest day in the area since 1974. At least you have some "airflow" and are not in a mobile sauna/TWR Bastos Rover !!

Re: V8 Idle Issues

Hi Tim A common problem with Lucas 14 cux hotwire system and a pain in the neck! - as not all cars with this problem seem to respond to the same tweaks. If it always returns pretty quickly to normal idle when stationary then the idle control stepper motor is probably OK, the plenum air bypass adjust...

Re: AVO coil-over dampers?

Hi Harald Unfortunately the AVO coil-overs will not fit using the standard mounting points, the outer diameter of the coil spring fouls the hoop and chassis. On race cars we do fairly major mods to fit them in and make them work properly, which on a road 4-seater is impractical. Maybe easiest to con...

Tim Good idea to go to GPR. Outer dimensions of EVO and Pro2000 bigger than Rev, so more "cutting and shutting" to fit, possible to get all of them close to the floor but will have to flatten spring cover and better to use side mount on outer side to chassis (as the lightweight Roadsters)....

Hi Having squeezed my lanky expanding frame into various competition 4/4's and +8's over the years, and once paying the price for using a c**p seat, as well as fitting many seats for customers, I strongly reccommend a proper race seat for any reasonably serious competition. They're safer and quicker ...
