In that case, as at the Nurburgring 24 hours in a German car, my right hand is doing the waving and I have to remember to to put my left hand on the steering wheel.

This works most of the time until my phone rings.............................

Tony Lees said I am sure I have seen Mr Ahlers passing me sideways whilst waving with his spare hand I quite often race with one hand on the steering wheel and always that way in the wet. It leaves my left hand instantly ready to change gear and also available to wave to spectators and other drivers...
