Re: Morgans Down Under

There are surprisingly a number of Series 1's down under as can be seen on the Morgan Club Of Australia's web site http://www.morganownersclub.com.au/series1.html . Even my close neighbor has one https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1783/28079648797_a87bc6c30b_c.jpg Bill's "Queenie" on a recent club run i...

Re: 1966 Le Mans Morgan +4

Hi Andy I am pleased you met up with Len Bridge at Goodwood. I had a number of telephone conversations with Len as I was going to do a short biog for my book but I just ran out of time. The remaining Le Mans guys are all getting on now and their recollections will soon be lost. These are my notes fr...

Spring Start for Le Mans competitors

Great to see Simon and Sharlie competing at the Spring Start Silverstone last week in their Le Mans Morgans. https://farm1.staticflickr.com/980/39920071420_2c69a7d50a_z.jpg Simon battling with the Bentley et al. Standard Special query

Had lunch yesterday with a chap who started his 4-4 coupe's standard special engine for the first time. He was surprised by the petrol over flow from the carb was was through the inlet manifold - exiting to the road through a hole in the bottom of the manifold! He thought of bunging the hole but the...

Re: Morgan +4 Super Sports and +4+

You've probably noticed that my Super Sports has not been seen at the UK tracks of late........because it's now begun a new life in Switzerland! https://farm1.staticflickr.com/879/41148755381_e8351dc482.jpg 6625 competing in Switzerland It is being very well looked after by the new owner although it...

Re: Phillip island historic festival

Phew, made it.....I month, 5000km (about 3,000 miles) and now 18 muesli bars later. https://farm1.staticflickr.com/889/40253491025_ebefcfdeaa.jpg The cross Australian Alfa 3.2 We watched Lewis being robbed of victory by that German fellow from the Waites Stand at Albert Park. But that qualifying lap...

Phillip island historic festival

After 3,500 km (about 2,200 miles) driving across Australia, Sarah and I arrived at Phillip Island to attend the historic festival. En route we drove across the Nullabor dessert with it's 90 mile straight so not much chance for arm flailing here! We consumed nil oil, nil water but countless gallons ...

Re: Super Sports Return to Le Mans in 2018

At last LMC have seen sense. Fantastic number of Morgan +4s. As for the number of genuine supersports....I can count two.......??

Cheers

Re: 1966 Le Mans Morgan +4

Great Andy.....1966 was the year of the SLR then. That's made me have a rethink. Taking into account:- * CJL always looked forward and the SLR was obviously flavor of the month in '66 based on your listings * An SLR with a cross flow TR engine could be highly competitive (eg won at Goodwood Whitsun ...

Re: 1966 Le Mans Morgan +4

The situation is unclear on a number of fronts...... This listing says that the Morgan Motor Company Ltd entered the Morgan +4 into Le Mans in 66. http://formula2.vargarnaspeedway.se/1966.html The homologation papers for the cross flow TR engined 'TOK 'were published way back in '63 and are here htt...

Re: 1966 Le Mans Morgan +4

Maybe john?? This is what is known about the car Mark Shears wrote:- 3 FLH was delivered new from the factory with a LT hardtop ,wide wings and steel wheels. I don't think it had an engine. The reason for this was that its new owner had the hot LT engine out of his Plus Four Drophead Coupe fitted in...

1966 Le Mans Morgan +4

I saw this and thought......NO.....must be some mistake. According to the net, the Morgan Factory entered a Morgan +4 in 1966 to be driven by Chris Lawrence and Chris Spender. The entry wasn't accepted. See:- http://www.teamdan.com/archive/wsc/1966/66lemans.html and here:- http://formula2.vargarnasp...

Super Sports Return to Le Mans in 2018

Great news that TOK 258 and FOJ have been accepted into this years Le Mans Classic. The controversy continues as FOJ has been rightly put in Plateau 3 whilst TOK has been punted into Plateau 4 again! There is another +4 "Super Sports" of 1962 vintage from France keeping Keith company in Plateau 4 to...

Le Mans Morgans Back to the Sarthe 2018

https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7428/27791501945_e545da870d_c.jpg Great news.....I've just heard from Simon that all three Series 1 Le Mans Morgans have been accepted into this years Le Mans Classic. Quite fitting really as it is 80 years since Prudence Fawcett and Anthony White first entered (and f...
