Re: The Fabulous SLRs

Andy, did you spot the Richard Dodkins Triumph SLR? No - but I did find this at Silverstone 31st October 2021 at the Motor Racing Legends Endurance Meeting. As an aside, Richard Dodkins is a previous owner of XRX 1 during its Daimler V8 period. Have Fun 8-) Andy Richard Dodkins in the car and owner...

Re: MHR Events - Please post your suggestions here

Thanks for your kind comments Ian - it was good fun and Cameron Engineering was a masterstroke by Machiel. The turnout was better than I expected and I was happy to help out on the ground along with Tim Marsh, Tim Ot, and Adrian Dence. Machiel and I have ideas for 2022 but if you do too - PLEASE let...

Re: Bob Northover

Thanks Barry. That is sad news. Bob told me a while back that he was ill but typically asked not to broadcast it as he wanted to deal with it himself and in his own way. He did an immense amount for old Morgans during the 1980s and 90s as you will know well. Like many I also came under his tutelage ...

Re: 2021 Morgans at F1 GP Silverstone 17-18th/07/21

There were two races, one on Saturday morning and one on Sunday morning - each 30 minutes. They were really exciting at the front (AC Cobras dicing for the lead) but more interesting further back. On Saturday Billy was really flying in the pre-crossflow 4/4 leading the class (from the Sumpter Porsch...

2021 Morgans at F1 GP Silverstone 17-18th/07/21

After Covid hiccups prevented the Porsche competitors coming to the UK, a late call from the Masters Historic Racing has resulted in support races at the British GP Meeting on Saturday and Sunday. Two well known Morgans are in the races; 1 - Smon Orebi Gann's +4 SLR 2 - Billy Bellinger's Cosworth po...

Re: who what where when

1973_6-hour_pitlane_sml.jpg 1973 six hour relay Silverstone. I think I recognise some of these people - does anyone else? From my Holly Birkett 6-Hour relay Archive on BHP:- Birkett 6-Hour so perhaps that will help. The race itself was before I became embroiled in the world of motor sport. 1973 - S...

Re: WANTED - 1991 +8 Wheel Nuts

Thanks for your suggestion Jim - and to all the other suggestions. I have now sourced some stainless steel replacements at a very reasonable cost (under £3 + VAT each) from - Select Auto Supplies 024 7646 5845. Note the website says Trade customers only, but I think they're grateful for any business...

Re: WANTED - 1991 +8 Wheel Nuts

Thanks Philip, I'll have a look at that, Ian Grimes at Track & Classic had suggested Select Auto Supplies.

I presume when you say "offset" you might mean "taper".

Many Thanks

Re: My First Race (Morgan Challenge or other)

When I joined the MSCC in 1976, the first people I met were John and Mary Lindsay. Mary (shy as always) asked – “What are you doing a week on Saturday ?” Me: Nothing why ? Mary: Do you want to go Motor Racing ? Me: I’ve always wanted to do that ! Mary: Great, we’re doing a 6-Hour Relay at Silverston...

WANTED - 1991 +8 Wheel Nuts

Hello, I'm looking for some wheel nuts in good condition for a 1991 +8 with Morgan alloy wheels. I know there are new stainless steel ones available but the prices really make me wince ! So does anybody have some used ones to sell, either stainless or chromed left over from an upgrade ? Please PM me...

Here are the photos from Eddie Singleton, when the car was recently for sale on the Internet - I wonder if the current owner has any idea about its competition history... Link Car & Classic Andy https://serving.photos.photobox.com/72627347ad04c8ca3195b74f89da034447c3aff704084bf7cc31df150cad16428...

Re: Griff Griffiths - WANTED Information - Can You Help ?

Thanks Barry, Leigh, Eddie, for your quick responses, I have also heard from Peter Mountain, Andy Garlick and John Lindsay. It seems many were aquainted with Griff but nobody (so far) really knew him ! He did indeed have a place near/at Windsor at some time. Don't let that stop you though - all info...

Griff Griffiths - WANTED Information - Can You Help ?

Griff Griffiths was a leading light in the Morgan competition world in the 1960s, both as a car preparer and a driver. He was a founding member of the MSCC London Centre and had a workshop in Willesden North London. We have had a request via Gill Bevan the MSCC Membership Secretary for any informati...
