Re: Where are they now?

Mary Is the second photo Barry Taylor? Great driver, great guy; just a bit too fast for the BOTG club. It may not be, as I seem to remember his 4/4 had alloy wheels. As for the white +8 racing bravely on 14" wheels, why not phone P & D Plant Hire on 01 573 5948 and after booking a JCB for t...

Re: Classic Motor Show - 2008

The Back of the Grid Club was a marvellous institution. I seem to remember that members included Dave Sapp, Mary, Peter Sargeant, Ian Doolan, Gentleman George Hodgkinson and yours truely. There may have been other worthy types as well. Possibilities include Bob Northover, Murray M-S and Caroline Tar...

Re: donington park track day

Test days are the pukka thing, but Alex and I recently did a Donington track day. This was his first venture onto a race circuit. Our humble little Focus batted round gamely for 165 miles without a hiccup. Alex treated me to a splendid spin in the Craner curves- great fun! Anyway the whole day with ...

Re: Transponder Wanted

Like Leigh, I have two wired in transponders. At first I thought this was a bit of a waste, but it is really very sensible as there is no risk of forgetting it, not charging it or of damaging it. Suits me anyway!

Richard- I know all the problems and joys you face being Awards' Secretary as I did the job for a number of years. The overall MSCC club championship used to be very closely contested. This was partially because the club's racing and speed championships were not so highly developed and partially bec...

Serena give me number 71 as 7 and 17 had been taken and 1 has to be won. You try making 88 out of tank tape! Mary and Jack like their cars to be taxed as theirs are tax exempt. Congratulations to Keith and Adrian.

Alex took photographs of all the Morgans which were in the Techniques paddock enclosure before the TT race at BDC Silverstone. Only TOK was missing from the line up. Go to http://thegreenhell.rscsites.org/morgan4

I phoned my bookie todayand got excellent odds on the top three placings being Bellenger, Ahlers and Bellinger. I did not even have to specify which way round the Bellingers would have to be; mind you Jack talks more than Billie. If the going is very heavy I would take a punt on VMO. I am glad to he...

Indeed, it is I. I am very honoured to have been asked by Barry to drive NYF. The last time I drive this car was on the way to the start of the 1991 Monte Carlo challenge in Berlin whilst Barry has a quick kip before a virtually on stop five days of rallying!

Hope the weather is okay. At least in a Stock Hatch you have a roof, wipers and possibly a heater. The weekend before last we had our first F4 race and it was snowing during scruitineering and not much better during the race. Still it was good to be out again. Good luck.

I wonder how the '74 team would have got on on Saturday. Andy Garlick's +4 was pretty hairy when naturally aspirated. The Birkett relay was a great way to finish the season. Mary's Series 1 would have been vying for position with the Austin 7s and Bob Nothover would have been praying for a good resu...

Don't knock 2CV racing. A 2CV can complete a 24 hour race just as quickly as an Audi R8!
