Re: Morgan +4 Super Sports and +4+

Hi Eddie, Thanks for the further input. Re: early +4SS which are not regarded by the MMC as true S/Sports. Where does this quote come from? Is this despite MMC recording early SSs as such in the build records and when registered by the factory on the log book? Maybe the factory were just practicing ...

Re: Morgan +4 Super Sports and +4+

Hi John, From what I have read I have no reason to doubt Ken Hill's list - on the basis that he or someone trawled through the factory build sheets and picked out the cars labelled as such. My copy of the build sheet only covers the build of FOJ (and cars immediately before and after) and that is la...

Re: Morgan +4 New Year Lunch 2015 - Leathern Bottle?

Thank you for the comments, my pleasure. A couple of hours doesn't seem long enough to catch up and discuss plans etc - no doubt this view will not be echoed by Bob who of course 'suffers' our chatter - every year!! John, happy to hand back the reins for next year. I'll be content with handing back ...

Re: Morgan +4 New Year Lunch 2015 - Leathern Bottle?

Hi All, I have just spoken to the LB (taking my temporary responsibility seriously) and confirmed we're still planning to descend upon them tomorrow. As usual they're suggesting we meet in the long bar (for those who have not been before this is accessed from the door at front of the pub on the righ...

Period Morgan racing pics I have not seen previously....

Happy New Year! Courtesy of the VSCC December newsletter I came across this site today https://revslib.stanford.edu that has a fantastic selection of period photos of different marques in competition. A search for Morgan https://revslib.stanford.edu/?_=1420477039293&f%5Bmarque_ssim%5D%5B%5D=Morg...

Re: Morgan +4 New Year Lunch 2015 - Leathern Bottle?

Hi Chas,

hopefully there won't be a clash, it'll be great to see you! I assume you'll not be using Facet on this occasion?

Re: Wheel for Serie I

Well done Machiel for finding that wheel! I spoke with George Proudfoot tonight. He's hopeful, all things being well, to be able to start looking at wheels next year (2015). The current project, Head gaskets for Coventry Climax engines, is drawing to a conclusion and then he can focus on wheels (17&...

Re: Greg Mackie's Morgan Restoration.

Yes, thank you Mark. I would be delighted to see FYL 631 at the same point of restoration! Still, great to see the photos and another DHC making the journey back to being roadworthy again =D>

Re: Morgan +4 New Year Lunch 2015 - Leathern Bottle?

I have let the Leathern Bottle know we'll be descending upon them on the 17th Jan from around mid-day.

Hopefully the weather will be kind Machiel - both ways!

Merry Christmas!

Re: Morgan +4 New Year Lunch 2015 - Leathern Bottle?

Dear +4 fanatics, At the moment I am still reading "The Book". For me the most important "news" was to see on page 102! The one and only +4 Super Sports are +4's, low line body (just one with a Serie III, Serie IV and Serie V), two seaters, and ofcourse Lawrence Tune engine, exh...

Morgan +4 New Year Lunch 2015 - Leathern Bottle?

So, our esteemed organiser of the annual +4 Drivers Lunch is going to be on his own International Adventure this year so it's down to the rest of us to get ourselves organised. With 'The Lawrence Tune Years' book probably part of our essential reading list this will no doubt provide some interesting...

Re: Morgan Sports Cars The Lawrence Tune Years

So, I've got my copy - had a thumb through to see what if anything I could find FOJ related and now need to settle into reading through it properly. Seems to be another great effort =D> No doubt, it will cause much discussion, at the Plus 4 drivers gathering over Christmas! Perhaps if I can get this...

Re: Wheel for Serie I

Hi Machiel, I assume the 'Team' are looking for a 17" Easi-clean type wheel? That being the case, and knowing how difficult they are to find having got my Series 1 finished this year I wish them good luck! Not only are they difficult to track down there's also plenty of others similarly looking...
