Hi Richard,
I used an 8' by 4' sheet of aluminium 5-bar tread plate that when cut fitted mine perfectly.
Just over £100 if recall.

Re: 140 mph speedo face wanted
Thanks Philip, I've emailed them and they can do the recalibration, but they don't have a face.
I will probably send it to JBO who have a Triumph 2000 face that is very similar and their help has been great.
I appreciate the suggestion.
Cheers

140 mph speedo face wanted
Has anyone out there got an old 140mph+ 100mm smiths speedo lying around that they don't need or want? I'm having mine rebuit and recalibrated as a 140mph unit as the car is far quicker than the 110 current limit and I keep trashing the calibration by over-stressing it. This is my original, I don't ...

Re: ex racing car for sale
Hi John, If it helps I got my 1965 highline 4-seater project parts from a number of sources for about £2,400. By the time I've located the missing bits it'll cost about £4,500 plus my labour to complete although it will have a later engine, gearbox and running gear. During the search I looked at loa...

Re: Wanted - project old 4-seater
Thanks Leigh, You are of course right, a 2-seater conversion will be considered if the 4-seater search draws a blank. Chris's mixed bag of parts could fit the bill though. Well done for LMC, I came back last night with Richard and Tony, a great weekend. Sixth place on handicap is a great effort! Che...

Wanted - project old 4-seater
With a growing family I can't get away with choosing between the kids for much longer! I'm therefore looking for an old 4-seater, preferably x-flow onwards. I would rather put my time into it than buy someone elses, so the more work needed the better (and cheaper hopefully); so a project, even disma...

Re: Wanted: +8 reclining seats
Hi Dave, I was thumbing through a Europa Spares catalogue the other day and noticed they have reintroduced their signature seats. I fitted some of these to one of my Morgans 20-odd years ago and they both fitted well and were supportive. It might be worth a look, they're FIA approved too. https://ww...

Re: ford 1.500 cc bonet
Hi Enric, Dave Rutherford tried a GRP bonnet some years back, without success. If you get a short inlet manifold and stubby trumpets, you might find it will fit under the bonnet. Talk to Helen Thorne (at Richard Thorne's), she races a 1964 4/4 with twin carbs and I am sure she has the standard bonne...

Re: 4/4 roll bar for 2seater
Hi Enric,
John can answer as to the availability of his, but I can confirm it will fit as they are fairly standard for 2 seaters. I bought one from an 80's +4 and it fitted my 1969 series V 4/4 without problems.
There are plenty around, you shoud get one OK.
All the best.

Re: BODY FOR SALE!
Hi Mark and all, I bought that decidedly sad fibreglass bodied car which I spent some years rebuilding and now run in Speedmog. The car is the 69 4/4 competition car Andy competed in early on (his first Morgan) and I believe the donor for Dave Rutherfords fibreglass buck. It passed through Tony Morg...

Re: Awards for the 2009 season
Hi Richard, Why not link it to being tax exempt? Just an idea. Ignore me for the award, it's not just the chassis that's changed, the gearbox has changed too. Original axle but different ratio. The subject raises an interesting point though, most of the changes to my car including the GRP body were ...

Not me then, a new chassis a few tears back rules me out.
Thanks anyway.
