Re: A New Year Message

Mary,

You were certainly smiling in your very glam picture in the Morgan Centenary book! Obviously a much nicer photographer than Bob................. :P

Re: Welcome Catherine

Bob,

I bet the ever polite & courteous Mary not only understands "jografe" but wouldn't have managed to lose my last interview with you from the recorder either............

Re: "Equipe"GTS 2009

Jim,

I would definitely be interested in a return to Le Mans after racing RU at the Classic this year. As I only race the car in FIA format anyway the full windscreen is not a problem for me. Hope to see you in 2009.

Re: A New Topic

Not directly connected (although this seems to make no difference in any e-mail thread involving Bob) but I'd like to observe that even exotic tracks in foreign parts have their downsides. Having recently returned from "sunny" Paul Ricard I'd say it was more like Snetterton in March; freez...

Re: Le Mans Classic

All I can say is "wow" & can the Challenge series incorporate some running Le Mans starts & night races! Highlights for me were: ~ Somehow the Techniques team kept the Series 1 running so that it could complete round 3 & therefore, along with Keith & TOK, win the team prize...

Re: Grande Passione Donington - 19th/20th April

Had a fantastic time with Bill Wykeham at Donington on Thursday, Friday & Saturday as he very kindly spent a lot of time teaching me how to drive the +4 so I didn't embarress him too much in the Gentleman Drivers race. Despite Bill driving the socks off the car we still came 29th with Malcolm Pa...

Re: "Equipe"GTS - 2008

John, The Equipe competitors were extremely friendly and I thought that Jim Lowry & Christophe Wilmart organised things very well. My lesson from the race itself was that both myself & the +4 need a lot more preparation & experience before becoming competitive. I placed a lowly last in b...

Re: BIG Calendar for 2008 Morgan +4's

Hi John & Richard, Having only driven the Roadster before in the MSCC & TSCC I'm trying to find my feet with the newly acquired +4 and would appreciate some guidance from you. Thus far I've entered a couple of the Equipe GTS rounds and will also be at the Donington Masters Series "Grand...

I'm starting to access some of the history of 8334 RU and Jim Tucker and this would seem to corroborate that Morgans participated in the BDC at least as far back as 1966. I believe Jim's results in RU for this period were 2nd in '66, 2nd in '68, 1st in '69 and 2nd in '70. Fascinating stuff!

Hi Mary, In your role as historian do you happen to know if the ex-Jim Tucker car (8334 RU) I'm in the process of acquiring raced in the BDC in 1968? Chris Harvey's book suggests it may have won the race in 1969 but I'm not sure if this is correct either? I'm hoping to have it running in the Techniq...

Richard,

It would be very helpful if you and Mark could let me know what races you might plan to do as I'm hoping not to be the only new boy in the series, especially as I'll have never raced a +4 before!

Kind regards,

Hi Jim,

I too am very interested in joining you at some of your meetings in 2008 in the eligible +4 I am in the process of acquiring, such is the lure of your events!

Kind regards,

According to the blurb on the Geneva stand there may be three cars racing in GT3 next year. One of the others will be driven by Lafitte's daughter and also an offspring of Prince Sturdza who is sponsoring all three!
