Re: HTP Back Axle Ratios - No. of teeth?

Thanks John. Just so this topic isn't left just hanging I do now have some teeth numbers. Unfortunately, for a new HTP it's not just a case of specifying numbers that would correlate with the specified ratio. There must also be period supporting evidence that the combinations are valid. I will updat...

HTP Back Axle Ratios - No. of teeth?

In current HTPs it is now necessary to specify the No. of teeth on any Final Drive ratio's adopted. From Hom. Form 37 (Plus 4 1961) it references the following options: 3.73 (No. of teeth 11/41) 4.1 (No. of teeth not specified but known to be 9/37) 2.8 (No. of teeth not specified) From Hom. Form 64 ...

Re: Morgan +4 new years lunch 2016

Nice to see everyone and catch up on Saturday. Quality not quantity on this occasion perhaps? Bob, thank you once again for the photo of DLJ.

Leigh - I was all set for a miserable drive home until I realised Ryan had texted me the score the wrong way around! Happy Days!

See you soon.

Re: Morgan +4 new years lunch 2016

Hi All,

I spoke with the landlady at the Leathern Bottle and she's happy to have us all back (including media types/paps!) once again. Same bar as previous years. See you on the 23rd.

Re: Morgan +4 new years lunch 2016

23rd Jan works for me. If this is the date we're going with (shame you'll not be able to make it Richard!) then I can let the Leathern Bottle know. Maybe given the notice they can setup a satellite link to Oz for John. Alternatively, we invite Kevin Bacon along too as it seems he never has a problem...

Donington Historic Festival

This weekend is the Donington Historic Festival and on Monday, all being well, 3 Series 1s will be racing in the Motor Racing Legends 'Mad Jack' race. I'm assuming it's probably been a while since 3 pre-war Series 1s took part in the same race?

Re: VSCC Spring Start

Thank you Tony,

sadly what you didn't then see is the difference more horses make on the straight bits. Having said that, it did make it great fun surprising the group I was trying to stay in front of (and then trying to catch again) with repeated overtaking on the bendy bits.

Re: Morgan +4 Super Sports and +4+

Perhaps I can conclude this debate with a few observations for consideration for those with an interest in the Super Sports. Obviously a lot has been made of Chris and Jake’s book latest book ‘The LawrenceTune Years’ but we should not overlook the research included in their previous book ‘The Herita...

Re: Morgan +4 Super Sports and +4+

Hi Machiel,

How are you sure that the SS chassis #5004 that is coming up for auction is not the original car? As advertised it seems to have the correct engine # and documentation from factory to confirm provenance. Seems quite a bold statement to make otherwise.

Regards,

Re: Morgan +4 Super Sports and +4+

Hi Eddie, apologies, I don't have a copy of 'Completely Morgan' so misunderstood the point you were making previously. I didn't realise there was a another separate list of Lawrencetune-engined cars in addition to the Super Sports list. I mistakenly thought you were referring to the SS list earlier ...
