Re: Grand Prix de L'Age D'Or. Dijon 19th/ 20th June
We don't appear in the pictures as we were in the overflow to the overflow paddock as we arrived rather late. Pity I still can't work out how to get pictures onto this site despite Chris' very clear instructions. is it because I am using a Mac rather than windows. I took some Morgan pics too but non...

Grand Prix de L'Age D'Or. Dijon 19th/ 20th June
Just back from the Pre 63 race in Dijon this weekend. Fantastic track and amazing result for the 4 Morgans there. The final positions at the end of the hour were 1st and 2nd to two Ferraris. Third was XRX with the Kremers. The Emberson/Wykeham team was 4th in RU, a Lotus was in 5th with Malcolm Paul...
Re: Batteries
The name of the horse was 'AHU' (a persian name for a gazelle). Unfortunately although we had bred her ourselves she was a bit of a handful (hence the name and the bad fall) and when I moved to London from Herefordshire my mother who kept her on for a couple of years found that her unreliable nature...
Re: Batteries
Bob, This is a recurring problem following a bad fall off a horse in my youth (crushed vertebrae). I should know what my limitations are by now but have obviously never learnt. 'Must not lift heavy boxes' should be my mantra. Many thanks for your kind concern all the same but I know that this curren...
Re: Batteries
Yes I was there. I put my back out a week ago and am on 'light' duties so was unable to push the car on my own! Many thanks Jerry, we owe you a beer or two. You never know, now that the starter motor and clutch have expired John may consider an offer for the car you took such a fancy to! (Not seriou...

Re: Save the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight
Many thanks for bringing this to our attention. Both John and I have now signed up. The sight of the Battle of Britain Memorial flight is especially evocative for John as one of his uncles served as a rear gunner in Lancasters during the war. He survived the war despite volunteering for additional t...

Thank you Mary,
Much better that Minnie be played by a man. They are much better at making fools of themselves. No offence intended Leigh.

Re: In Praise of Catherine Emberson
Liegh, you have just proved how little I really know about windsurfing. It will give John a feeling of superiority which will in some way make up for the irritation I caused him this morning when after complaining about the non existent train timetable I pointed out that at least he had actually got...

Re: In Praise of Catherine Emberson
Before agreeing to anything I checked out Minnie Bannister on Wikipedia and find her described as elderly and not particularly bright! Also she has an interest in sinful modern dancing. I'm not admitting to that unless I know exactly what that entails!!! Nor do I play the saxaphone but I used to pla...

Re: In Praise of Catherine Emberson
Bob, you are too kind or are you still concerned about the photos from Goodwood that I still have in my possession.....? John and I were too busy yesterday drinking champagne after Charles received an offer from Cambridge! He still has to get some ridiculously good A level results so he isn't there ...

Re: 2009 Panto - Jack and the Bobstalk
The standard of panto has become so masterly that I had considered myself too lowly in wit and repartee to make a meaningful contribution. Much enjoyed though so please don't be put off for next year. John and I sloped off for our own production of Treasure Island (Yo Ho Ho and a bottle of Rum and a...

Re: Mary & The Goons
No problem Bob. Have just been catching up on the panto (far too clever for the likes of me) and am anyway on a different planet having just returned from the azure seas and far off golden beaches you previously mentioned. Jet lag and the temperature difference is hard to bear so am in no fit state ...

Re: Six Hour Relay - What Really Happened?
We thought Kelvin was auditoning for the latest craze. Strictly Come Morgan Dancing. He certainly cavorted down the pit straight with flair and imagination. Most of the other drivers who tried it out ended up in the pit wall so congratulation Kelvin for winning that round. Guten Morgans had a pretty...
