Re: Le Mans Morgans Back to the Sarthe 2018

Great day and night racing from the three teams. Simon has done the maximum laps possible by a 1098cc Morgan and is leading the way on scratch and handicap. Simon was 8th on handicap after the first race and 11th during the night. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1765/41460914080_24cd58c599_c.jpg Than...

Re: LMC 2018

Day and night qually is now over. Leigh reports that his +4 Flat Rad (car 42) in Plateau 2 and all six +4s in Plateau 3 came through the day OK but Keith's TOK (car 28) was not classified (?) and Adrian's XOV (car 8) was unable to make the night session. XOV is reportedly undergoing an engine change...

Re: Le Mans Morgans Back to the Sarthe 2018

Day and night practice/qualification successfully completed by all cars. Leigh reports heat maybe affecting smooth running of some cars. Results for day and night sessions were - Simon (car 40) 46th and 42nd; Leigh (car 42) 54th and 55th, Goddards (car 66) 60th and 58th. =D> The full results can be ...

Re: Le Mans Morgans Back to the Sarthe 2018

LMC is getting closer and preparations are (should be) well underway. I came across this the other day, a collage from yesteryear (2008?). https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7440/27590473981_5404a5b189_c.jpg Photos by various people, but not me Me thinks the drivers were Plant, Lees and Sebba, I was rel...

Re: 1966 Le Mans Morgan +4

Hi Andy I am pleased you met up with Len Bridge at Goodwood. I had a number of telephone conversations with Len as I was going to do a short biog for my book but I just ran out of time. The remaining Le Mans guys are all getting on now and their recollections will soon be lost. These are my notes fr...

Spring Start for Le Mans competitors

Great to see Simon and Sharlie competing at the Spring Start Silverstone last week in their Le Mans Morgans. https://farm1.staticflickr.com/980/39920071420_2c69a7d50a_z.jpg Simon battling with the Bentley et al. Standard Special query

Had lunch yesterday with a chap who started his 4-4 coupe's standard special engine for the first time. He was surprised by the petrol over flow from the carb was was through the inlet manifold - exiting to the road through a hole in the bottom of the manifold! He thought of bunging the hole but the...

Phillip island historic festival

After 3,500 km (about 2,200 miles) driving across Australia, Sarah and I arrived at Phillip Island to attend the historic festival. En route we drove across the Nullabor dessert with it's 90 mile straight so not much chance for arm flailing here! We consumed nil oil, nil water but countless gallons ...

Cheers
