Throw the old one away and replace it with a quick shift one, from Burton, Rally Design, Demon Tweeks etc and you might even go faster

A 4/4 or early +4 will fit (just) a 12’ trailer, but it does not allow you much usable room to position the car on the trailer to get the nose weight right – get that wrong and it will tow like a pig and probably damage the tow car as well, and if you have an accident all sorts of mud will start fly...

It is suggested that you point the nozzel at the most likely point of a fire - which in most cases is the carbs - and mounting it on the bulkhead keeps the pipe lengths short
