Re: Making Them Go

Was given a front suspension "rubber snubber" at the Spares Fair, which was possibly original. Anyone have any views as to whether this was likely to be an original item in terms of size or detail ? http://www.morganseriesone.com/frontsuspension/snubber1.jpg http://www.morganseriesone.com/...

Re: Another Find?

Hi there,
I think it was EOM498 while in the UK, exported ~1974...
Sister car to EOM491, (both supplied to the agents, Colmore, Birmingham, Dec 1938), once used by George Proudfoot in competitions, now beautifully restored.

Bill

Re: 1938 4 seater “Le Mans” EVR804

Hi there, Found the following images of the bonnet mascot of the 1938 DHC in some publicity photos, very similar in profile and design. http://www.morganseriesone.com/radiator/4-4_DHC_1938_mascot_detail.jpg http://www.morganseriesone.com/radiator/4-4_DHC_1938_mascot_detail3.jpg http://www.morganseri...

Re: 1939 "Le Mans" CSF266

Hi there, Will post the whole article shortly. The car in the "Light Car" image is BNP370/FXD280, the bonnet fasteners are still the early large AMAL type as seen in the images of the car at Le Mans (escutcheon plate fastened by a single setscrew, type not used since car #0421). The radiat...

Re: 1939 "Le Mans" CSF266

Hi John, Thanks to Jake Alderson I now have a copy of the article in The Light Car regarding the introduction of the Le Mans Replica. As the image shows, the car was modelled upon the appearance of BNP370 as it was in Sept 1938. Another Feb 1939 Le Mans Replica was HPH750, as owned by the Render bro...

Re: Making Them Go

Hi all, When looking through my photos and spares I noticed that my spare Coventry Climax engine came with a 1958 Lucas CJ26 40100E distributor (1940s Citroen 12 or 15) anticlockwise 13-15 degrees, and another running Series 1 in the UK is using exactly the same distributor, was this a recognised tu...

Re: 1939 "Le Mans" CSF266

Hi there, If I am reading the timeline correctly, at the time that the “Le Mans Replica” was advertised for sale (Feb 1939), BNP370 was still in September 1938 Brooklands MCC trim, as suggested by descriptions of the advert (which I haven’t seen). Thus if any orders were forthcoming, I would expect ...

1939 "Le Mans" CSF266

1939 "Le Mans" CSF266 According to the designation used by Ken Hill, this would be a "Le Mans Replica", although the records only denote "Le Mans", original specification: "Climax 1098cc, 2 seater "Le Mans", Blue with Aluminium Spoked Disc Wheels, special...

1938 4 seater “Le Mans” EVR804

1938 4 seater “Le Mans” EVR804 I see in Miscellany that EVR804 is being offered for sale. This car had a 4 page feature in Classic Cars magazine in February 1990. 1938 order specification: 4 seater, black, aluminium spoked disc wheels, large tonneau cover, cycle type wings, outside exhaust system, t...
