Yes but the really interesting thing about this Series 1 Peter, is that it was fitted from new by the factory with the 1098cc Climax engine - same as the competition cars...

Re: Mille Miglia - has a Morgan ever entered or competed?
Hi Alan,
You are almost correct...
It was Peter's dad who wouldn't let him go!
It's great fun trawling through the list of eligible cars and like John finding one that is left field and affordable!
Aunty Rover anyone...?!!!
Cheers

What a sad end to the story Tony.
I wonder what happened to the remains - and the log book...?
Could be the start of another project...?!

Re: supersports
More likely Simon is that Super Sports was an old Morgan nomenclature for their most sporting of models going back of course to early three wheeler days. And as such it was a Morgan description and not a reference to an out sourced supplier like Lawrence Tune. And as you say the factory obviously co...

Re: supersports
Hi Mary,
Hope you are keeping well and look forward to seeing you at some windswept ex: RAF airfield somewhere as soon as...!
Do you say that 5266 MM is a Lawrencetune car as opposed to a Super Sports because it is one of the early batch of high line cars?
Cheers

Hi Andy, Thanks for posting. This is the same car shown in the posting ' +4 SS for sale with Historic Cars'. It is a road going Super Sports but if anyone wants a pukka racing Plus 4 Super Sports then the ex: Hugh Braithwaite car is for sale in Germany. It is registration number 5266 MM and was orde...

Re: +4 SS for sale with Historic Cars
Gael tells me it was a typo...!
Yes it is chassis number 5122 - originally blue.
Price: 92500 euros
Contact Gael or Guillaume if interested.
But I think you will struggle if you are interested in their beloved Super Sports replica 122 GWP!
Cheers

Re: 1959 Morgan +4 Historic Race Car For Sale – SuperSports Specification
Baby Blue sold for £69,052 including commission.
There were 4 bidders all on the phone for it and bidding was enthusiastic.
It was finally down to two bidders and I think the winning bidder may have had more steam had it gone higher.
Is it anyone we know...?
Cheers,
Mark
