So – how is the betting ? In the absence of Keith in TOK and Billy in his 4/4 will it be a genuine 1960s +4 such as Richard Plant, Adrian, or the glamorous SLR of John E.

Perhaps Chas in his ‘hot rod’ 4/4

Or one of the modern cars such a Greg in the super factory +4 although I suspect that as a new boy to racing he will be out manoeuvred by one of the old lags

Of course I have a key role in this as the leaders all come past to lap me !

Leigh,
I started to open a 'book' on the result, but then realised that with the odds I was quoting a few people might take offence, particularly when I had got down to 250/1 on Mar .............! Ooh! Nearly slipped up there.

Look forward to seeing you win driver of the day.

A big thank you to Tracy and Brian for assembling a terrific grid, which has grown year by year, a wonderful spread of refreshment and to all the other drivers who made it a spectacle worth watching.

And one very special thank you to Jack and Billy for letting me use, abuse, WFW - for a duff start left me behind the fire tender car, so some 10/10ths driving was called for, but still beaten by son Ian – Ouch!!!

Looking forward to next year – a full capacity grid?

I echo Barry's remarks, a super event and a great 'spread', always well supported. Brian and Tracy (and Mum and all of the Techniques team) deserve a massive 'Thank you' from everybody who attended. The only downside is that MG's and AC's don't get much of a look-in, as the TT attracts so many Morgans. It's just not fair.

Jack, Barry, just imagine how you would both feel if you had a daughter who beat you.......!

Sounds like you all had fun, sorry I wasn't there.

Well done Leigh, it is great to hear that JNV made a return to Silverstone (her first since 1969!).

A big thank you to Brian and Tracy for all the hard work in getting so many 4 cyl cars on the grid
as we can see from the Christmas lunch arrangements they take a bit of organising

next year to level the playing field as per the challenge
pre 1980
post 1980 to 1800cc
post 1980 over 1800cc
car or engine which ever is the younger
ps Barry we could give the more senior driver in a family team a head start

Given that Chas’ car has a G number plate and so is presumably around 1969 (and I don’t know what registered year Tim’s car is) I don’t quite see how Tim’s suggestion will separate the ‘hot rods’ from the ‘real Plus 4s’

But I like this idea of handicapping by age and ‘generation’ of driver – son, daughter - no doubt even our pet dog could beat me nowadays :(

Great event and perhaps symbolic that it coincided with the demise of Chris Lawrence – the guru of 4 cylinder Morgan racing.

Jack,
Count yourself lucky, Barry has TWO sons, and both have a bit of talent, do you think he woud be upset if it was suggested that he could lose a little weight?

This could help even things up a bit!

Mary,
I have four daughters, and you can see what a wreck I am, however, by much cunning I have ensured that neither the girls or myself find ourselves in competition with each other on any front, so embarrassment is avoided.

So very nice to see that both you and Jack are still with us.

First Class regards,

Bob.
