Morgan +4 New Year Lunch 2014 - Leathern Bottle

Post by John Clarke »

Better get this one moving as only 6+ weeks to go and I fear Bob hasn't posted on this forum for a while (brace yourself).

As a creature of habit and taking the path of least resistance, I suggest The Leathern Bottle as the venue and either Sat 4th January or 11th January the date... from mid day.

As always, it's an open invitation to all historic racers (past and present) though if you have a +4 bent, that would stop you getting too bored.

Please express your preference for dates then I'll apply my management technique of decision making..... that is if I can find my thrupney bit.

cheers

I always carry one on my key ring John, it has a small hole on one edge to allow connection, but should still function as a means of making momentous decisions if your multi sided item of obsolescent coinage fails to materialise.

Always happy to help.

It is funny (not ha, ha wise) but I only logged on because of the very reason you mention, failure to lift the level of content above the mundane for sometime, partially because I did not want to spark any mention of festive entertainment, and thus trigger some bright spark suggesting a .......!

Whew! Nearly blundered there.

In order to concentrate he minds of potential attendees, either date suits me. (assuming my presence would not cause difficulties) I could leave the camera at home.
Ace Photograp…… you know!

Hi John,
The 11th Jan would be best for me but could make the 4th if that suited everyone else.

Hi John and Bob,

Like Richard I would prefer the 11th but can do the 4th if that suits more people - the more the merrier!

Hi All!

Just had an email from Mark Hoble to say for some reason he can't get onto BHP...

However he can get to The Leathern Bottle on the 11th January!

That's enough to get the thrupney bit spinning. The consensus is:

Saturday 11th January at the Leathern Bottle from mid day.

Please continue to post if you think you are likely to come along and I'll warn the landlord again of numbers.

For those that struggle to remember what they had for breakfast the details of the pub are here

Hi John,

As the new old boy on the blog and prospective racer once I get a suitable car, I would like to attend the noggin scheduled for the 11th Jan. In support I would also like to bring an old friend of mine, another John.

Hope that is OK, well Mark said it was!

Looking forward to meeting up with everybody

Best regards

Alan (818 AOA) House

Happy New year +4 'ites.

The Leathern Bottle have been primed and are expecting us from mid day on Saturday 11th January. I guessed about 20 but numbers really aren't important. They will be happy to receive us all (and fill up their tills). Soup and sandwiches are available plus more exotic meals for the well healed.

I tried to explain that it is not the Audi Owners Club annual bash but they were not convinced!

I look forward to seeing everyone

cheers
