Chateau Impney

Post by peter rafter »

Wileing away the hours at the end of the season, I happen on Motors TV footage of the Chateau Impney Hill Climb held this summer. Mark , Hannah and the other 3 wheeler bathtub pilot were the obvious stars in a wonderful collection of priceless memorabilia. Mark, your car looked splendid (was Philip on hand to polish?). I hope you pirated a copy of the full TV transmission. Having lived in Droitwich before exile to Yorkshire and, much earlier in the 60’s while at school in Worcester , on an weekend exeat with the parents of one of the incorrigibles, we were treated to an illicit visit to the Chateau , which if my recollection is correct harboured a casino. We were able to drink alcohol- heaven forbid—and yes there may have been some noisy cars outside…

Hi Peter,

Yes apparently there was some nice footage of me going up the hill. I didn't see it but Philip told me about it. (He was very proud of his polishing...!)

It was a great event and as there were only two four wheeled Morgans invited (Guy Loveridge was in the ex: Pat Kennet Interim Cowled Plus Four) we were very privileged.

I don't know if it is possible to get hold of a copy...?

Cheers

Mark
