Hi Peter,

Good to see you again the other week at Donington.

The Morgan for sale at auction (again!) is the ex: Richards and then Jeff Stowe car.

It is owned by Sam Thomas at present.

Not a genuine Supersports (obviously!) but Jeff was always competitive in YSK...

Cheers,

Mark

There is another for sale by DM Historics. The car raced by Jochem at LMC 2018 and has a history of Dutch racing.

Peter I thought I recently commented as to the lack of racing ‘factory’ TR supersports. Apart from TOK (Keith) and XRX (Kremer) the only one racing is Simon King’s FOJ. Jim Deacon and John Clarke both raced SS cars but the cars have gone abroad. There are perhaps five or six road cars in UK including the one recently acquired by Ian Cummings

Hi Peter,

Good to see you at Donington and look forward to seeing you again (socially distanced of course!) at Bentley Drivers Silverstone where the Shears/ Tisdall fleet will indeed be in attendance...!

Leigh is quite right that of the 104 Supersports originally made by the factory only a handful ever raced in period or do so today.

However many Plus Fours raced in period to what became known as 'Supersport' specification and indeed that continues to this day...

Cheers

Mark

Well regardless of Factory SuperSports or not - it seems to be a lot of car for the money. I doubt you could build it for that price.

And to put Andy's comment in to perspective YSK was sold by Bonhams at their Goodwood Revival sale only a couple of years ago for £68750.00

Cheers,

Mark

FOJ is currently in the 'garaged, accumulating cobwebs' group but hopefully will be out again soon...

FOJ and I raced against AR9 343 (DM Historics) at Le Mans Classic 2018. The car seemed to go very well, only being a little slow on approach to the pit entry, Jochem can explain that one .....

Haha Simon, I remember you surprised me there by coming in in front of me.... ;-)

I have a picture of both our cars during that pitstop but still don't understand how I can post pictures here....

Car ran well but was not a full race spec car. Also the car suffered from a melting battery in the night session... but what an experience to race at Le Mans...! For 2021 I am on the reserve list with my own red plus four PRL100. Hope we will be let in!

Unfortunately no BDC race meeting for me this weekend due to travelling restrictions etc....Have fun and wave that 4 cylinder flag in the TT!

Hi Jochem,

Good to hear from you and pleased to hear you and the family are all well.

We will miss you at BDC Silverstone this year but I will be upholding honours as I am racing the red Plus 4 in the TT this year.

Take care and look forward to seeing you next season - hopefully at Le Mans!

Cheers,

Mark

All this talk about is it or is it not a Super Sports, Ken Hill went to the factory and waded through all the records. He listed them below and I use the list as my bible to decide whether a Mog is or is not a Super Sports. If a car is not on this list. it is not a Super Sports.....simples.

Thanks John for showing this list. You are correct, if a car is on this list, the car is real!

All the best, Machiel.
