The Leatherne Bottle

Post by Alan House »

Hi
Its some time since we had a meet-up at the Leatherne Bottle around Christmas/New year. I'd be more than happy to make the trip from East Anglia if there are enough other interested parties! My diary is clear so any suggestions for a suitable date?
In anticipation of a positive response
Best wishes to all

Someone did mention this recently (Simon King ?). I think usually was mid Jan and I may possibly be away sometime Jan so would prefer Sat 29th Jan or the following couple of weeks.
If no one else replies we can move it to Suffolk !

Dear friends,

What a great idea. But it's so sad that we are not capable to go there.......... Well, that's what I think. It should be a fantastic opportunity to see and speak with old friends..............

Well, wish you all the best, stay safe, Machiel Kalf.

Hi all,

This was mooted to me by Jonathan Edwards...

We thought sometime in the New Year would be good.

I would suggest that the 29th January is about as late as we would want as we have lost the Christmas/New Year spirit once you get in to February!

So come on then...fire a few other dates to us or we will go with Leigh's suggested date!

Cheers,

Mark

Dear Morgan friends,

From 5.00 am on, this country, (Holland) is in a very heavy lock down. Not because of the high number of Covid-19 infections, but that's what they try to avoid. We love to travel to the UK............ we love to stay there and to meet as many as possible friends. But sorry, I don't think that this will be possible the first 2 months of 2022.
In the meantime we wish you a Merry X-Mas and a happy and healthy 2022, Machiel & Ingrid Kalf.

PS Enjoy your meeting.

Seasons Greetings everyone!
Hope you all had a good Christmas…
Tony Quinn came to see my latest Plus 4 addition yesterday and said he would like to join us at The Leatherne Bottle too.
He lives near Clevedon Simon.
Hope to see you all on the 29th. COVID restrictions permitting…
Have a good New Year.
Cheers,
Mark

Very enjoyable lunch at the Leatherne Bottle.

Attendees included amongst others were Simon, Mark, Andy, Richard. Tony, Bob, Phil, Chas, Leigh and yours truely,

Topics discussed were when did we last meet at the Bottle, LMC 2022 and 23? SLRs, Lawrencetune employees, Le Mans 66 flat rad supersports.

Cars mentioned were Bentley Continental, Alfa Romeo Guilia, Brera and 2600, EVs and of course Morgan.

Techy topics were limited to Webers, SUs, back axles and wheels.

Morgans discussed were VNO, Mark's/Tony's twin pare wheeled cowled 50's Morgan, supersports.and +8s.

Mentioned in despatches were Phil Goddard, Brian Gateson, Vic Champness, Johnny Shears , Jonathan Clarke.

Discussions came to a premature close due to battery issues.

A very enjoyable get together and the lunch seemed decent!

A special thanks to Simon for the technology
