The Season Draws to a Close

Post by Bob Bull »

We are now into October and the final dregs of the season are swiftly slipping away leaving us with a gathering darkness and cold nights huddled around a pint glass in a dingy pub miles from civilisation.
Not a prospect to cheer the soul of the hale and hearty Morgan pilote. Therefore we must tun our minds to pursuits more suited to long winter evenings, and bleak nights that loom so dismally on the horizon. No doubt some 'Smart Alec' will launch a pantomime with some whitty title before hibernating until spring, leaving a few poor wretches to carry the burden of reaching some impossible number of posts.
NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!! NOT GOOD ENOUGH I SAY.
Each must play his part, put shoulder to the wheel, take turn and turn about, nose to the grindstone, share the load, hold up their end of the log, and stand up and be counted. There is a National crisis, every man, woman and child must be prepared to make sacrifices, and rally round the flag in our hour of need.

New diversions must be exant. Fresh pastimes offered, new and exciting entertainments displayed. There is no dearth of talent within the ranks of BHP members, history proves that, so get those thinking caps on, and become a folk hero lauded and praised throughout the land. Get cracking.

YOU COUNTRY NEEDS YOU.

That's the spirit Mary! Confuse everybody.

1) The Austin and the Sprite?

2) Andy Green as he enters his garage?

3) Too obscure for me, but did you spoil the dinner last night?

Even at ninety years old Arthur enjoyed rallying his Morgan, but one day he said to his wife, I'm going to give up rallying love. But why Arthur, she asked, you know you love the sport.
It's my eyesight, he said. I can't see the route markers anymore.
Well she said, my brother George is ninety five, but he still has perfect eyesight, he can act as your navigator. So it was agreed.
Next time out the duo were hurtling along a forest track, and Arthur asked did you see the route marker?
Of course, said George, I've got perfect vision!
Which way do we turn then asked Arthur.
George looked vague and said.

I can't remember!!

Don’t drag me into your stories – I certainly don’t recall that incident.

Your first posting sounds a bit like a certain Mr Cameron’s speech

Just checking that you were still with us, Leigh. I am pleased to state that you had no involvement with the said story, it must have been Jerry Knight.

Probably where he got the idea from, it's called plaigarism.

Still someone has to lead, set the tone, fly the flag, set an example, stand up and be counted. 'cometh the hour, cometh the man'

This is coming along quite nicely - how long I wonder before it drifts into a discussion on rear light bulbs for 1932 Le MansR eplica Aeromax fog lamps?

Phillip,
I fear Jack has a point, I have met Mrs Tidsall and to describe her as 'wide' is a little wife of the mark.

Talking of which. Anyone named Mark Shears could inscribe scissors for a living.

There are some (one) whose contributions to BHP might well earn them (her, him) the sobriquet,

Miss Ann Thrope *

Signed; I. C. Trubble-Cumming.

* For those who may need a dictionary - one 's' and one 'n'.

Must go as I am off to broadcast to the nation at 9.0pm, output includes an interview with Keith Ahlers (make something out of that if you can)
