Hi Mary,

Some more great photos of the way we were!! please keep them coming.

Interestingly on the 10 Tenths motor racing forum there is a thread for the 1980 Willhire 24 hour race at Snetterton which you may not have seen before which shows lots of photos of the event including your and Bruce Stapleton’s car (What happened to that car) and a green Plus 8 OOD 566G which I assume was the Mike Duncan car??

http://www.ten-tenths.com/forum/showthread.php?t=78711

Regards

Richard.

Richard - thanks for the link, there is some very interesting stuff isn't there!

The green Plus 8 is indeed Mike Duncan's car and it was badly damaged in an accident in the 1981 Willhire while being driven by Dave Saunter. This car is still around and being used as a road car according to Mike.

Jack - I have consulted Mike Duncan who says that 296 FNP was a works car and that Jim Goodall used it. Mike doesn't know where it is now either.

Great pictures Mary and the same goes for the pictures in Richard's link.

I am most interested in these old pictures of period racing and "historic racing" in it's early years (can you imagine...in the late seventies and early eighties we used to go to the Nurburgring historic Grand Prix and the TR engined +4 Morgve beans competed there in the historic races......these cars were only 15 to 20 years old then.....same as racing a 1995 Morgan nowadays...). Funny....

So keep all thes pictures and links coming, I will also try and scan a few and post them.

by the way, I know an ex Stapleton race +8 is now driving around here in Holland as a street car, owned by Chiel v/d Pluijm. Hermen, you know what chassis numbers etc?

Mary,
I suspect the 'hot pants' Jack was referring to were not female (or indeed male) attire, but an altogether different type of 'pant'. Probably not dissimilar to the way he emerges from Wild Thing after a torrid night time session .... Oh! Driving.

Has anyone else noticed how often the subject of underwear crops up in relation to Jack Bellinger?

No matter the topic somehow Jack's smalls seem to get a mention, this is all the more strange when we have been led to believe that he normally goes 'commando'!

I wonder Mary, do you have any ancient snaps of Jack that might shed light on the subject?

I will as always rely on your discretion when posting any pictures.

Bob.
