Re: Best British Sports Car
Wot no Vauxhall?
Re: Best British Sports Car
Apart from the Cavalier SRi 130 and the Firenza/Magnum that Gerry Marshall raced, did Vauxhall make any sports cars?
Cheers
PS. Here in the southern hemisphere, Vauxhalls (4 Cylinder) are low spec Holdens (V8s), and Holdens are Australian made of course.

Re: Best British Sports Car
There was I thinking that I was bringing to the attention of a host of MORGAN FANS, the chance to vote for the marque as Britian's Best Sports Car, and what do I see?
A detailed history of family saloons from Vauxhall!
You are a very weird bunch.
When the result of the poll are a triumph (almost a pun there) for MG, I suspect you will all cry - "Rubbish".
Mr Puzzled of Luton.

Bob
I totally agree....what's all this Vauxall stuff? I notice that in a. Recent survey JD Power or something similar the Luton Mark was listed as worst car in the world. Maybe there is a degree of taking the proverbial P here!
Maybe a decently spec'd up +4 or a S Sports or how about a well sorted 993?
I'm with you on this one Bob...responses to your post ought to take on a more serious note.
Although I have to say that my survey of Aldeburgh High Street this morning revealed that the sporting grannies favour the KIA Picanta!
Best wishes from the Suffolk Coast

Vauxhall stopped making cars in 1927
Re: Best British Sports Car
Ah! But you see Tony, nobody told them.TonyLees wrote:Vauxhall stopped making cars in 1927
Anyway just to encourage a few more of the 'Hardy Breed' to 'man-up' and vote, I should point out that of the fifteen cars listed there are 2 MG's, 2 Loti, 2 Jags (no Prescott jokes please) 2 Austin Healeys and 3 Triumphs, which mean supporters will be split. Only Aston Martin, TVR and Morgan have a singleton* entry, so the odds for Morgan have improved immeasureably. After all who is going to vote for Aston Martin or TVR? It's a cinch - but only if you vote.
* Sorry Robin no pun intended, don't bother with an angry reply. Keep on sanding.
