For Simon Scott or ?

Post by Bob Bull »

Simon is an avowed F1 Nut (his words) so for him I pose the following question;

What connects;
Farina
Rouen
Bob Swiekert
Ascari
Jack Brabham
Alfa Romeo
John Zink Special
Brabham Repco
Jenson Button.

First clue; Start from 1950 as this is an F1 competition.

Anyone else who fancies their chances is free to have a go.

Here’s a clue

Farina could be a racing driver called Nino, a Morris Oxford, or a cereal food…… :?:

Obviously everyone else too busy at Spa, Angouleme, Kop Hill or even at work to acknowledge Bob’s strenuous efforts to raise the tone of the site.

Inspired by Loose Connections on the Brian Matthew Radio show (and he is even older than Bob) I thought I would give this a try.

So, as we all know (thanks to Google), the 1955 Indy 500 was won by Bob Swiekert in the John Zink Special.

I rather assumed that each on the list led to the next – but perhaps they all have a single connection?

Give us a clue, Bob :?:

I have challenged various people (experts) to solve this conundrum/puzzle/maze and as yet despite several clues nobody has come close. So! Be warned Leigh and any other intrepid souls. It is not complex and once you have solved one the rest are just a matter of applying the same 'formula'.

The Indy 500 was around of the F1 World Championship in those days, and that is significant.

Everything revolves around the number 10.

Personally I think that Jenson Button is the best one to work on, what has he ever done that would link him to 10? Alright, more help Lewis Hamilton was the 11th.

Further clues can be obtained by sending signed cheques to ....................! Hope to see you all Donington on the 3rd.

Where is Scotty when you need him?
