1950 series 1 hood frame

Post by sam campion »

I have been rebuilding my 1950 Series 1 for the last .......... mostly it is finished though yet to run. To the point, it is so long ago that I took it to bits I cannot remember how things go together, and of course I have no photos.

Does anyone have a Series 1 of the same era that you would be willing to take some shots of the hood frame mechanism and email them to me, I am interested in the order that the elements come together when folded. My brain hurts.

Thank you

Sam ,

These photos were taken by John Merton in Oz of his Series 1 hood frame. He asked me to post them here as he is normally just a lurker on this site.

Does this answer your questions?

If you email me OG I can send you them as jpegs files

Mary ,

I am puzzled by this , I hosted the 2 photos on a website (Flickr) and posted the urls to them , but nothing came up. Is there a trick I am missing?

Hi everybody

Jack Bellinger sent me a reply (photo) shortly after I posted this, via the historic register, that was exactly what I needed. Since then I have been busy spending a lot of time and even more money on the car. It goes, but has blown the head gasket I think, I did get about seven miles out of it!

So thank you again and apologies for my rudeness in not replying sooner.

Ah, the joys of the Standard Special.
Been there many times. Happy to share experience.
