First event for FGO

I had a go at an autotest yesterday. This was an event at Curborough hosted by the Cannock & District Car Club, which dad roped me into. The other entrants were mostly Saxos, Minis, Novas and Micras, but we ended up being entered in the 'RWD' category alongside 11 MX5s. I finished 13th in our class of 13, which I was pretty pleased with considering.

Anyway, I learnt a few things about my car. The turning circle is comparable to that of a bus (and there's no option to spin the back wheels to get round the tight corners), the body flexes so much you can't easily open the doors if you park cross-axled on a grassy knoll, the temperature gauge is pretty arbitrary; but the brakes and tyres hold up extremely well!

Not sure I'd be in a rush to do another (at least not in FGO) - the B road journey there and back was much more relaxed, but a good event nonetheless.

Fairly typical Morgan then!

Well done. The MSCC keeps looking to revive this event. There is also a general Series 1 end of year trophy for which there is a very limited number of recipients.

When I have done a local event there are always lots of MX5s which do very well
