MSA Medical and ECG

Post by John Clarke »

Just had the shock of my life - my local hospital (Chiltern Hospital) is now charging 89.50 and 268.00 for MSA medical and ECG respectively. I need to get on an ECG quick to recover!!!

Anyone know somewhere cheaper ..... a lot cheaper??

Thanks

John

 (about to explode)

Last time I needed a medical I went to Motor Racing Medics (see the leaflet enclosed with your licence renewal documents). They were very good and I can't remember how much they charged but it wasn't as much as your coronary-inducing hospital!

Seems about right John.

Although the Motor Racing Medics site seems to be down (http://www.motorracingmedics.co.uk), the following prices were posted on the GoMotorsport site in November 2010 (here).
Motor Racing Medics offer medical examinations for MSA licences, stress electrocardiograms, cardiologist reports, blood group testing and custom earplugs. A basic medical starts at £75+VAT whilst a thorough medical and Stress ECG costs £310+VAT.

Brilliant - booked into Kettering for the end of this month. FYI - no VSCC or other membership required - in fact why not go and have one done for fun.....and only £100.

Thanks Tony and Peter for steering me in the right direction

Yes – John I seem to recall VSCC do the medicals at one of their events (which you may have missed) and the ECG is done at Kettering
