140 mph speedo face wanted

Post by Mike Hughes »

Has anyone out there got an old 140mph+ 100mm smiths speedo lying around that they don't need or want?
I'm having mine rebuit and recalibrated as a 140mph unit as the car is far quicker than the 110 current limit and I keep trashing the calibration by over-stressing it.
This is my original, I don't need a working unit, just a face that is similar and higher speed.

Mike,
If all else fails try Speedy Cables in Swansea. They repair all sorts of instruments and may well be able to re do your spedo to the 140 you want or might have one about. I have used them a number of times and they are very good. www.speedycables.com or a call 01639 732213

Thanks Philip, I've emailed them and they can do the recalibration, but they don't have a face.
I will probably send it to JBO who have a Triumph 2000 face that is very similar and their help has been great.
I appreciate the suggestion.

Thanks all, sorted with a Triumph 200/2500 unit.
Built and recalibrated by ADO for £100, great value.

Trying to think which tracks you have been to where you can exceed 110 mph because I'm sure you are too law abiding to exceed the national speed limit. Hmmm!
