Hardtop Moss Box +8

Post by Jochem Kentgens »

Am looking for a hardtop that fits my friend's 1971 Moss Box +8 here in Holland.

Probably known as the Rutherford model?

Any ideas welcome.

Sid Watson might be the one to ask: he took Dave Rutherford's moulds.

Hi Guys,

I beg to differ! Sid did take all of Dave Rutherfords moulds - except for the hardtop!

They were bought by that german chap.

Cheers

erm, differ again! ( a bit!) Sid has a hard top mould, but I will grant you it might not be Rutherfords! But it might be!

Hi Richard,

That is interesting - and a new development since I last spoke to Sid. I know he is very friendly with Vic Champness so could there be a link there?

Cheers

Could be Mark. I saw his hardtop when I collected my wings last year. He sends them somewhere else to be trimmed, as far as I can remember.

If it's of any use, as far as I'm aware Matthias Kreyes bought the 'Rutherford' Hardtop moulds.

The last contact details I have Matthias are:

Matthias Kreyes
'The Morgan Garage'
Bachstr. 19

D52445 Titz-Hasselsweiler

Germany

Tel: 0049 2463/998463

E-mail: M.Kreyes@t-online.de

Hope this is of some help?

Thanks Richard - good to hear from you. Have you sold the Dellow Morgan Plus Four yet?

Cheers

Jochem

My understanding from a discussion last year was that Vic has the moulds for the +4 hardtop and that Rutherford sold the moulds to Mathias in Germany for the +8.
But I'm sure that Vic would be able to confirm or otherwise if you were to give him a call.

Hi Mark,

No I still haven't sold the Dellow Morgan Plus Four yet.

Unfortunately we were messed around by someone from another country for a month and the day after 'Sale Agreeing' it he pulled out, once bank details had been forwarded to him!

Therefore it is still available and has got to go as is taking up much needed space.

As always though, all offers will be looked at and considered.

Regards

Rich
