Mirrors

Post by TonyLees »

Hi,
I think I need an overtaking mirror on the nearside of the yellow peril...
Any suggestions?
Cheers, Tony

Tony,

Try driving faster - this will alleviate the need to see who is overtaking you, as you will be overtaking them....

Andy, I refrained from a flippant answer because I thought people would think I wasn't taking it seriously enough, but now you've set such a bad example I will suggest a neat little make-up compact which would have a mirror inside it. This is what us girlies use, although I must confess, I don't always take much notice of what I see in my rear view mirrors, as many will testify.

Thanks for the helpful responses so far...
I thought I might need one to see the expression on (insert class b competitors name) whom I had just overtaken ;-)
I was hoping for a real answer too - does anyone have an opinion as to who makes good mirrors? (other than the Avon Lady).
Cheers, Tony

I prefer the regular Morgan ones with the round mirrors (like I think you have on your driver's door). The only disadvantage is they fold flat at speed ...

I dislike the expensive Demon Tweeks types as (a) the mirror surface is small and poor and (b) you need an Allen screw to adjust them.

Just refit the mirror you need for the MOT and to meet road regulations

Ah, now I know I'm not going fast enough! I thought fold-flat mirrors were only for class A?
All that money spent on speedo and horn and I missed out something simple like the mirror - must take the MOT man to task for missing it :-)
Not that keen on the Morgan mirror but I suppose originality counts so may well pursue it.
