Hi Mike.
The model has a very limited audience. Ken Hill sent me what he had many years ago and I posted it on GoMoG..but I removed it when it became a target on its Talmudic finer points. (sad smile).
However, you are in luck. There are two Series I experts left and if you catch them on the right day..they can be very helpful to you. One is George Proudfoot of the MSCC
http://www.mscc.uk.com/technical.html and the other is John Merton in Australia

Proudfoot is a Series I owner and specialist-for-hire and acted as the Technical Director at the MSCC for many years. The Series I is the only Morgan for which the MSCC carries a inventory of parts in the three-wheeler club fashion.

As for which oil to use...I am no expert in the model. But the Series I uses mushroom lifters and was born in a era where all tappets thrived on 20-50 oils rich in a zinc additive called zddp. In recent years, this additive was removed from standard motor oils, as the USA found it prejudiced the ability of catalytic converters to live until a regulatory-required 10 years. As the removal was done without notices or name changes, there was some reported damage done to earlier engines like ours.
http://www.gomog.com/allmorgan/zddpUK.htm In Australia, zddp rich oil is easier to find..but make it a point to find out the ZDDP levels in what you use.
The article Tony posted IS excellent. I am trying to track it down.
