The race was run as a handicap, and looking at the results (Via HSCC web site) I suspect the Birkett Handicapper got drunk and worked out a sshissshterm .....

I can't find the results for the race Bob, when I click on it I am taken to something completely different - the WTCC results….
Could you provide a link please?

Mary, I suspect you are not noticing the necessary items on the menu, it is confusing. HSCC site and all usual procedures when you get to the results page look on the left hand side for HSCC then click on last Silverstone box. This gives you the Hayes results. The following link might get straight you there, it is the url (?) of the page I reached.

Thanks Bob, it is a bit convoluted but I got there in the end.

Do we know if they achieved their goal of setting a record ?

Mary, it was far too wet, and the program constantly interrupted by red flags, that I neither knew nor cared about such matters. I saw that it was billed as some sort of record, but what the target aimed at was ??????????????????????????

But you know women drivers ...............................................

Sharlie said that it was an attempt by the BWRDC to achieve a record the highest number of women racing drivers in one race. :O:

Unfortunately neither Kathy, Tamsin, Michele or I were able to support the event.

I just wondered how they fared with their record attempt.

Mary there were 29 entrants, and according to the BWRDC web site they achieved the record.

Here is a link to my efforts trackside. Note the marshal watching the race.

Thanks for that Bobby, I am pleased they achieved their goal.

I wonder what the international record is. :-k

You took some excellent photos as usual.

The marshal is certainly riveted by the action on track

The previous record (UK) was 25, I do not know if there is any International record.

The program does not give details of the handicap system, but looking at the results I would GUESS that it involved credit laps. Looking at the average speeds it looks as if cars who finished 1,2, or 3 laps down were the faster cars, however they also recorded the lowest average speed for race distance. This suggests that every one was assumed to have completes 20 laps (race distance) and thus show a lower average speed. Probably the torrential rain threw the handicap assumptions out of the window, and the faster cars were unable to take advantage. All supposition on my part.

Any of the Ladies of the Parish members of the BWRDC, and able to throw any light on matters?

Bob. Who really doesn't give a da.................!
