Door Lock

Post by Andrew Faulds »

I have a problem with the Driverside door lock in my 2012 Plus 4 Supersport. The small black lever that is used to lock/unlock the door is stuck in the up or locked position, so consequently I cannot open the door from either outside or inside| Any knowledge or advise or suggestions would be much appreciated, thanks.

leave it as it is
spring into the car as they did in days of yore
or in your case clamber in
in any case its an opportunity to get your leg over1

Try a very large hammer.

Two very admirable suggestions! Try those with the roof on!

Success, and I didnt have to use a hammer, well not too much. Removed the door card, then the 4 chrome nuts, which allowed me to open the door with the lock still attached to the B post. Then I drilled out the 4 blind rivets on the back of the lock which exposed the latch mechanism. RESULT! Putting it all back together will be a lot simpler.
