Re: The Pom
Andy- to avoid a faux pas I will ask for the Clerk of the course or his office.
Entry list on Silverstone website- two Morgans, not driven by anyone I know.
One Plus 4 one Plus 8.
Will drive up in a Morgan, but not mine!
See you all there,
John

Re: The Pom
This is Edward Harvey in his 1960 +4 (UUX 209 for Mark's benefit) the only Malvern representative present, and he went well despite the 'novice status.
A dreary day weather wise but brightened by meeting some friendly faces mainly in the Paddock Diner ie. The Family Lees, Richard and Henry Plant, braving the gloom were John Bevan, Simon and Kathy Sherry, and Media types Peter Olley and Chris Dicken.
Good to see them all although the Sherrys were tight lipped worrying about any conversation being reported on ' Social Media'. I did not understand the reference at all.
Looking forward to Snetterton in April.

Golly I thought of calling in en route to Malvern dinner but there was such torrential rain in Essex (and I had a cold – ahh) that I gave it a miss
John Bevan was impressed with the GT40 with ski rack – there is a photo on ten tenths

Re: The Pom
Good to see so many friends. Was fun, even from the assembly area. Shame about the red flags; "wellington straight" bites again.

Re: The Pom
In the late 1970s I accompanied John and Mary Lindsay to Silverstone where they/she compteted in The Pom with the +8 JEK, bolted the car back together and then drove it up to Malvern for the Annual Dinner - and we made it on timeLeigh Sebba wrote:Golly I thought of calling in en route to Malvern dinner but there was such torrential rain in Essex (and I had a cold – ahh) that I gave it a miss

Re: The Pom
Hi Bob - and the rest of the boys...
Thanks for the picture of the Harvey Plus 4 and the update on this years Pom.
It is as Richard says a 'bustle back' Plus 4 with the slightly upright single spare wheel.
This was replaced with the sloping back we know and love to this day in October 1958 or thereabouts.
So UUX 209 is very late for a bustle back if it was first registered in 1960...
Wonder what the back story is?!
Cheers
Mark

Re: The Pom
Andy- following in Mary's footsteps (not sure what that says!) I did the same two years ago, I made it in time for the dinner, although this was the year Bob photographed me with snow in the passenger seat. I'm sure Bob will post the relevant photo.
Much enjoyed spectating this year with friends- I had to leave early to give Gill her first experience of a drive in a non-race Morgan !
Happy days......
John
PS Bob- I loved the photos!
