Hi All,
Most of you will now be aware that this years Techniques Trophy race for 4 cylinder Morgans will be held at the Bentley Drivers Club race meeting on Saturday 5th August. We are all looking forward to it and very much hope that you can join us again.
We have some past regulars who are planning to join us again this year and Jochem Kentgens is making his way over from The Netherlands to try to give you all a hard time.
Tony Hirst (TT winner 2014) will be presenting the trophies to the first three across the line and of course the usual catering and bottle of beer will be waiting for the congregation post race.
Hopefully we can have a big enough turn out to keep this little race running for future years, but the BDC have contacted me with a view to opening up the race entry to a wider audience if the numbers are down. Whilst they are very grateful to have a good turn out of 4 cylinder Morgans, they still need a big enough grid for it to be financially viable for them.
Hopefully hear from more of you over the coming days/weeks.
Best regards,
Brian

Hi Brian and Jochem,
Yes I will be racing - haven't missed one yet...!
Look forward to seeing you both then - if not before.
I am racing at Spa this weekend with the Classic Sports Car Club - it may not be too late to get an entry Jochem...!
Cheers

Hi Mark,
Unfortunately the Morgan is not yet race ready after an unfriendly encounter with a Ford Falcon at Zandvoort earlier this year....
But I will see you at Spa as I will share a friend's Austin Healey 3000 in the 3 hour race.
Will look you up in the paddock! We are in pit box 20/21 in the F1 pit.

Re: Techniques Trophy 2017
There is a real treat in store at this week ends TT at Silverstone. There is not one but TWO flat rad +4s taking to the track.
Leigh will be pitting his 1953 +4 against Mark Shears newly restored 1952 +4 "KUY 475".

KUY 475 is the famous lightweight rally car campaigned by the Reece cousins.
Mark's gorgeous +4 at rest. Photo by Mark.
It should be a wonderful sight. Take care boys.
cheers
