Post by John Clarke »

Great to see that Simon and Keith's SLRs will resume battle at this weekends Silverstone Classic. Simon (in the red SLR) will be partnered by Mike Bell and Keith (in the green SLR) by Billy Bellinger.

There is no live stream of the race but highlights maybe here

And you can follow the race live through TSL Timing here

Watch out for the rain boys.

cheers

It was a much happier event for the two SLRs (see Series 1 Mogs at the Silverstone Classic).

Qualifying saw Keith and Billy storm to 29th (quite apt really as racing with number 29) and 1st in class C2 and Simon and Mike Bell qualified 6th in class C2 and 59th overall.

In the race, Keith and Billy came 1st in class and 19th overall. Simon and Mike were 6th in class and 36th overall. =D>

The C2 class was dominated by Austin Healey 3000's - 4 x AH and 2 x SLRs.

I find the highest speeds in Sectors 1 and 2 and the finish line quite interesting:-

Intermediate 1 / Intermediate 2 / Finish Line
Keith + Billy 120.6 / 127.0 / 87.0
Simon + Mike 116.7 / 123.1 / 85.8
Quickest Healey 118.3 / 124.0 / 87.9

They have some grunt those big 'ole Healeys!

Cheers

All three Mog SLRs are racing this w/e at Thruxton. All appear to have practiced ok and in order of Keith, SOG, and then John E. But SOG car is in a different class GT2 whereas others are GT3. Race is tomorrow – good luck to all.

Apparently yesterday at C Combe (and also at S'stone where Peter Cole entered his +4) conditions were horrendous. And Mark the 50s race was scheduled for today and they cancelled all today's races at C Combe. R Thorne and Alan House on entry list for 50s and Phil Goddard for pre war so they had abortive journeys.
Shame that C Combe Autumn Classic gets a good entry but often has horrible weather
