1954 MORGAN 4/4 "INTERIM COWL" EX-PAT Kennett

Post by peter rafter »

Silverstone auction 25/6 August
fiercely campaigned' by the late motoring journalist, Pat Kennett, and features in many books about Morgan, including the official Morgan 100 Years by Charles Morgan and Gregory Houston Bowden, and is also illustrated in Ken Hill's defining work on the marque. Pat is best known as the only man to win a Grand Prix in a Morgan when he took victory in the 1963 El Gran Premio Nacional de Panama driving a Lawrencetune Super Sports.

Hi All:
I"m having trouble accessing the full results from the sale, but one hit I did get says the car did not sell. Does anyone have confirmation either way?
Thanks, Larry

I watched the Plus 4 (not 4/4 as erroneously stated) on the live feed...

They started the bidding at £28,000.

There was a bid at £29,000 and then another bid at £30,000.

No one was prepared to go higher than 30K as the auctioneer looked for 31 but didn't get it.

The lot was therefore passed as nowhere near (the optimistic) estimate.

Perhaps Guy can tell us...

Cheers,

Mark
