Curborough 1983 - where you there?

Post by TonyLees »

I was looking for some info amongst some old papers and found these results from the MSCC Curborough Sprint 1983.
Looks like some famous names were there and quite a range of cars including some Vauxhall 30-98's (sorry Peter, no Ferrari's!)

Fascinating Tony (but it may be more readable if you resize it to no more than 800 pixels wide)

Curborough '83

Post by Mark Shears »

Hi Tony,

Yes I was there supporting my old mate, Brian Povey. His lovely, specially wide bodied by the factory +8 and supplied on wide Revolution rims for sprinting and hillclimbing (ex:works) would have been having its first outing. (That car was sadly sold abroad some years ago.)

I wasn't competing as I had just taken delivery of my new CVH engined 4/4 and it was still a bit precious! What I don't remember were all those Plus Fours. Some long remembered names - I wonder what happened to them - and the cars?

Cheers,

Mark

I thought I knew you from somewhere Mark!...
Hah, I was a mere lad at the time. At least the series one was quicker this year than it was 24 years ago :-) Cheers, Tony

Amazing.....

And coincidentaly the other day I came across the results of an Eight Clubs race meeting at Silverstone in 1984. I kept it because it was my one and only race win (in my Frogeye). There are some fammilar names on it too.
