DAVID LESLIE

Post by Andy Green »

I met him a few times in his Touring Car days and more recently during testing at Silverstone

Just a great bloke and he would always talk with and give advice to any driver, whatever car you were driving

There are racing drivers and people like us who drive round circuits for fun,he was a great racing driver and so sad that Scotland looses yet another racing hero.

Andy - reading all the threads on Crash, Autosport, PH etc. Seems like a real loose. Pilot did a good job by all accounts to miss the housing esate (just on the edge).

I interviewed David many times over the years for BBC Three Counties and it was always a pleasure to talk to him as he invariably provided an interesting and amusing insight to any subject. He loved motor sport in all it's manifestations and you often found him walking around the paddock at Silverstone, even when he was not competing, be it vintage, modern or motorbikes. There were no airs and graces just a plain down-to-earth attitude to being a racing driver, be it at international level or racing his Formula Ford in the Walter Hayes.
David Leslie represented all that is best about our sport and he will be very much missed.
Ace Photograp…… you know!
