Standard Special camshaft
It appears that I have upset some on Mogtalk with this request, so I do hope I'm not up for another wrist slapping for putting it here.
Does anybody out there have a Standard Special camshaft and followers in good condition that they would like to part with?
There must be one out there somewhere, perhaps even unused.
Thanks for your help.

Hello Dave,
I saw all the B*ll*cks on Mogtalk (what a shambles), hopefully you will have more success here !
Regards the BOGC we could do with your relaxed driving style on the grid again - especially as Barry Sumner is organising the 4-cylinder Class.
Best Wishes
Andy

Hi Andy
Thanks for that. It appears that I did not word it correctly and was therefore soliciting. I've never had any luck on the soliciting front and still hav'nt! The really upsetting thing about the Mogtalk thing is that soon after I had bought the Series 1 I named it William!!
Shame you couldn't come to the NEC, it would have been nice to meet you again. As for the BOTG, I can't see that happening as William is going to cost me around £16k to get back onto the road again for next June.
Keep well.

Hi Dave,
Have you tried putting an add in John Alleys "news of the week" or "news of the month" ?, there must be somebody in the MCC with one.
As for the soliciting, have you given Kings Cross a go

Sorry to hear your the latest victim of sweet William on Mogtalk. I decided to leave forever after my last wrist slapping from him....then again as a Aero man I think my days were always numbered there.

Re: Standard Special camshaft
Hi Dave,
My SS camshaft was re-built/re-profiled by Kent Cams in about 1985 via Roger Comber.
Tenuous and old info but maybe helpful if that's all there is.
Good luck with getting the car on the road - we need more Series Ones!
Cheers, Tony

Hi chaps
Thanks for all the info. I'll be investigating it all.
As for sweet William on Mogtalk, I hope he got the message from Bill & Quentin. I doubt it though! I now look forward to further disagreements.
Jim, it would have to be Euston, I'm a LNWR man!

And after all that, good ol' George P has one in his workshop. And yes I did phone him over the weekend but he was out.
