Gracious! There is me thinking I should give you all a rest, and not hog the site, and what do I find?

Genuine concern or sarcasm? Hmmmmm...!

War wound? Did I ever share my wartime experiences with you? Of course I would not be able to reveal everything I did while serving Her Majesty, as I had to sign the Official Secrets Act, but I could probably touch on a few of the less clandestine operations I was involved in without causing panic in the Air Ministry.

I could tell you tales of jet fighter operations from an airfield in enemy held Shropshire, late night raids ..... on the local farmers potato field. I was an expert on chips back then.
Maybe I could reveal details of my being solely responsible for the safety of an operational airbase at a time when terrorists were know to raid armouries ... and I fell asleep!

Perhaps the full story of how I rose to the dizzy heights of LAC Bull expert in wireless! That meant I knew where the wireless was on a Vampire Fighter plane
.
So much to tell and so little time...! Only me and Winston stood between the invading hordes, thanks to men like me you can all sleep peacefully at night.

Just to let you know that I have been 'working' hard as an Editor, not lounging about.

You bend over backwards to please some people and what do you get?

Now at least I understand what poor old Jack has had to put up with all these years.

Having been accused of dragging my heels, and gross dereliction of duty vis a vis posting on the forum, I feel duty bound to answer your various questions.

Yes Mary! That Jack! I will have my revenge, have no fear.

Peter, do you not go to the Revival Meeting? I am always there, I'm the one on the Bren Gun!

A story from my chequered past for you to enjoy;

When serving HM in the RAF it was neccesary for each member of the squad to be competent on Enfield .303 Rifle and also the Bren Gun, and so one day down to the range we made our way. Now I suffer from what is/was known as a lazy right eye, (not unlike the rest of me), which means that I have difficulty, well impossibility actually, in focusing with that eye.
I could overcome this shortcoming by firing left handed with the rifle, and managed a respectable enough score to satisfy the instructor, however, the Bren gun can only be fired with the right hand, thus right eye! I tried to explain this to the chap in charge, but was told, in so many words to get on with it. The procedure was to fire 15 shots at one target, then change the magazine and fire a further 15 shots at a second target. I managed to put one hole in one target and that was it!
As one just had to pass I was told to try again and fire both mags. at one target. Still with nothing but the merest blur of a target I fired away and as luck would have it scored about 17 out of 15! I passed out as a 'Marksman' on the Bren gun, but if it came to repulsing invaders, you would be better off in front of the gun if I was behind the sights.

Yes I know it has nothing to do with Morgans, but when did that ever stop me in the past.

I hope this return to form will satisfy my many fans.

God Bless you all.

JACK! That Bloke? THAT BLOKE????

Only one of the best and best known, historic racers in the business!

I will leave it to some of the more perspicacious amongst our fellow members to enlighten your mind, just to demonstrate that not all display such an ignorance of fellow drivers, as the Chelsea Mob.

Leigh!
I am glad that I have been able to set your mind at rest. Now please get on with some work.

Best wishes,

Bob.
