Re: Donnington
Hi Bob,
Only just read your posting as I have been over to Malvern to pick up the now repaired and painted black car - just got to screw it all back together now for the Morgan Track Day at Mallory Park on Saturday!
The answer is No!
Cheers
Mark

Mark,
I hate to air our personal affairs in a public forum, but I have accquired a copy of the Jim Clark DVD you wanted and had asked for an address to send it to. I thought that it might inspire you to even greater heights of derring do this year.

Re: Donnington
Well, the not unsuprising news that the Grand Prix is in danger, has finally broken with reports of Wheatcroft sueing the consortium for £2.4 million unpaid rent and taking action to have the 150 lease on the circuit revoked.
Ecclestone saying that the government should step in to help*, and that Silverstone is not an option, looks like a smokescreen to avoid blame for loss of the oldest race of the championship.
Book your tickets for Silverstone in June and be able to tell your grand children you saw the last ever British Grand Prix!!!
* Yeah! Yeah!

Yes, after our 'yellow flags' weekend they then cancelled a whole raft of meetings and now this. Does rather look like the end of an over-ambitious dream (though the Times has Bernie stepping in to save it *).
* Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! (where are the Beatles when you need them?)

Golly – how many years ago was it that we were looking forward to first Mog race at the new Donington – and now it looks like disappearing into history again. Yes I heard the Heritage race at Don for this w/e has been cancelled.

I think George liked cars – but he is dead. I don’t see Paul with his green credentials – but perhaps Ringo ?
As for Bernie – what with divorce and a rudderless QPR football team, does he want MORE on his plate
Ah - I see our saviour - he has a beard and pullover and made his initial fortune out of Tubular Bells - we await the new relaunched Virgin Donington

Moving off at a tangent, the Heritage web site has two interesting cars for sale ads (well, one interesting car and one interesting reason for sale).Leigh Sebba wrote:Yes I heard the Heritage race at Don for this w/e has been cancelled.

Re: Donnington
Time for another trip down memory lane. Here are some photographs taken at that first Morgan race at Donington in 1978. The first photo shows the collecting area, the second one shows the cars going out on the warm up lap and the grid shot shows Patrick Keen on pole and some familiar cars just a few rows behind: Garlick, Lindsay et al.Golly – how many years ago was it that we were looking forward to first Mog race at the new Donington – and now it looks like disappearing into history again.
How times have changed, back row for us now!
That's progress.

Re: Donnington
The pictures are clearly fake! There is not a fireproof suit in sight, the drivers are wearing pullovers!! Come on now Mary? Do you expect us to fall for that one.
