Silverstone GP Track Day in May (139 pounds)

Post by John Clarke »

I am going to book a session with the Gold Track boys as a shake down for the +4.

They have two dates in May - Tuesday May 14th and Thursday May 19th. Both are on the full GP track. Both are open pit lanes and both are 139 pounds. These are for their evening slots from 5.30pm to 8.00pm.

For those that are unfamiliar with Gold Track, this means that you can have 2 1/2 hours on the GP circuit or until you wear out the car!! Race licences are not required.

Their website is http://www.goldtrack.co.uk

Please post with interest and preferred date. Speaking with Melindi, we should get a discount on the 139 pounds - more news to follow.

Hi John,

I have scratched from Silverstone as Laura has been accepted to Badminton and it will be muster all hands!

Therefore I would be interested in a Tuesday - can you check the date?

Cheers

There appears to be a preference for Tuesday 19th May - I will email the discount code to private mail boxes on this site. You can then either book on-line or phone Gold Track 01327 361361. Richard Plant and I are booking to-day.

Discount of 10 pounds for Morgans. Evening will therefore cost 129 pounds.

Please leave me a message and I will send you the discount code. We're booking evening of Tuesday 19th May. If you want to attend a different date, speak to Melindi at Gold Track and the discount may still apply.

Hi John,

Have booked with Melindi the Track Day on the evening of 19th May. She was very complimentary about you!

I have also told her Philip Tisdall will be sharing my car and she has not charged me any extra - it must be your influence!

Look forward to seeing you then.

Cheers

Thanks Mark for the kind feedback

Test is shaping up nicely. I understand the following +4s will be there:

Richard Plant and Chris Acklam in blue +4
Doug Taylerson in +4 (VON)
John Emberson in +4 (RU)
Mark in red(?) or black +4
Me in +4SS
and possibly John Bevan?

I understand Brian and tools will also be coming along with John E

I'm hoping Leigh will also be with us.

Please note the final instructions - GoldTrack are setting up somewhere near Stowe so we will not be in the pit garages. I think it is somewhere near the Porsche centre which Doug should be familiar with. Hopefully, the weather will give us a breather from these squally gusts

Don't bank on it (me being there). I'm being bit reclusive / lazy at the moment.

Good turnout of Morgans yesterday evening - including Malcolm Paul and Rob Wells with their Plus 4 and bright yellow Moss box Plus 8 (going very well!).

We were very lucky with the weather and all the cars seemed to be performing well - with the exception being Chas Windridges non Morgan super saloon!

Great fun and great company - thanks for organising it John.

Now just got to get my dynamo fixed before I see you all at Brands on Saturday morning!

Cheers

Turned out quite nice - apologies for being a bit grumpy - I was fighting raging tooth ache, swollen cheek and the helmet strap ended up just where you didn't want it!!

I managed to blow the back window out pulling 6000+ down the Hangar straight - crikey there must have been some pressure generated and did it feel quick!! . Good fun scaring the Lotus Elises and Porsches though.

Sorry not to have said hello to John Bevan - Mark pointed you out leaving the paddock for another thrash.

Nice to see Doug Taylerson and VON out - its a long time since we've seen Doug out on the track.

Chris, I'm sure will give his impressions of driving a +4 - its quite different isn't it Chris!!!!

See you all at Brands.
