Wanted - project old 4-seater

Post by Mike Hughes »

With a growing family I can't get away with choosing between the kids for much longer!
I'm therefore looking for an old 4-seater, preferably x-flow onwards.
I would rather put my time into it than buy someone elses, so the more work needed the better (and cheaper hopefully); so a project, even dismantled would be of interest. I am happy to redo chassis, (engine I have spares), wood, body, trim, hood etc
What has anyone out there got lurking in their shed?

Mike,

I currently own bits of an old 4-seater, CVH (your x-flow onwards), in need of full restoration, not complete but completely dismantled, so there is lots of work needed.
The chassis was re-done at some point (had it checked at the factory for records as no LOG BOOK), body is in need of repair as well as wood frame, trim (there is none, opportunity to design fabricate bits you want).
With regards to lurking in a shed, half of it is situated in Bristol whilst the other is in Scotland (useful I know but can be arranged to be brought together).

Parts/Spares

4 Seater Tub
Scuttle
Bonnet
Doors
Chassis
Bulk Head
Prop Shaft
CVH engine (no ancillaries)
Hood Frame
Rear Bench Platform
2 Front wings (4/4)
2 Rear Wings (+8)

I was planning it to be a project (but now bought my first car 3 weeks ago) so no longer need the parts.
Due to the location of myself and the parts at present describing or gathering images is rather difficult.

Best contact would be e-mail: C.Thompson-08@student.lboro.ac.uk
Or evening calls on: 0785 45 75 133

I am no expert but if you are doing a total rebuild you could of course consider starting with a 2 seater and making it into a 4 seater. This has been done with +8 cars.

Thanks Leigh,
You are of course right, a 2-seater conversion will be considered if the 4-seater search draws a blank.
Chris's mixed bag of parts could fit the bill though.
Well done for LMC, I came back last night with Richard and Tony, a great weekend. Sixth place on handicap is a great effort!
Cheers
