Hi Eddie,

Might be worth trying Steve Simmonds as I know he had some second hand ones at one time as he was upgrading a lot of customers cars with fancy mohair (and expensive!) sidescreens and putting the old ones to one side.

Failing that Roger at Harpers is always worth a call.

Cheers

Mark

PS How's the Drophead coming along Robin?!

Hi Mark,

Thanks for that. Spoke to Roger last week but nothing doing there.

Will try Steve Simmonds.

Cheers

Have you tried Terry Foxon at GEE?

Hi Mark

The Coupe is now receiving top priority attention now that the blue Irish Morgan is running and complete. Well I say that but my brother Eddie has also bought a coupe in basket case condition and that is receiving a bit more priority to get it to running chasssis stage prior to being bodied.
Mine is at running chassis with tub stage and is shortly to have wings and bonnets fitted and then painting and electrics.
Timetable is for being on the road for Easter.

Best wishes

Robin

I have a pair of tatty sidescreens: I was planning on practicing my welding on them. Frames are ok, one steel bracket thingy broken, have two new brackets, aluminium panels will flatten out. I was going to fit new windscreen brackets that'd rake the screen back a bit more, but none of the holes line up, so they could be up for grabs too.

Hi Richard,
Am just in the process of talking to someone about a pair of sidescreens, but if no success there will come back to you if I may.
They sound very well used, do you realistically think they are restorable (is there such a word !!).
What would you be looking for if you parted with them.
Eddie.

Definitely restorable: the ali frames are ok, and straight. No felt runners, no perspex (but I could get some for you from my plastic suppliers just down the road)
offers invited!

Hi Robin,

Pleased to hear of progress with the DHC. What are your plans for the blue ''Irish'' car?

This topic is like having your own Singleton web site!

Interested to hear brother Eddie has a drophead too. What year is it Eddie?

Cheers

Hello Mark,
Now there's a thought, a Singleton website. Will have a word with the Bruv about that !!!

My Coupe is 1966 but is in need of total restoration, new chassis ( the original collapsed in the middle ), new frame ( the woodworm had a feast !!), new body shell ( damp/rust had a feast !!).

Front wings, bonnets, cowl, engine, running gear all pretty good.

Long way to go yet. Thanks for asking.

Eddie.

Hi Eddie and Mark

A Singleton web site.....well there's a thought.

Or how about a website for those enthusiastic about restoration and rebuilding projects..............actually that's not a bad idea for this time of morning!

The Irish Morgan Mark...well that's done some very fast runs to the pub at Walberswick over the summer. Its quite a bit faster than the SS and the Adnams beer there is very good.

Incidentally Eddie, sounds like Richard's sidescreens might be the ones that I let him have about a year ago or so...........
Interesting to know that they might eventually find their way to you!
