Hope to make it – maybe in a Morgan but depends on logistics of calling in on relations at Oxford and / or Rickmansworth before / after.

But sorry – don’t have an Audi

Given the weather we are enjoying at this time, and having seen reports of severe flooding in Oxfordshire, do any of the local yokels have any idea how a trip to the lunch venue might be affected?

A concerned,

Bob.

Bob

I live 3 miles away

All the main roads are OK so suggest M40,B4009 has some minor flooding but cycle clips should prevent your legs getting wet

We'll have a cold drink waiting for you Bob, you now doubt be a little warm spinning those wheels up to M40 speeds. Watch the spray off the trucks.

Hmmmm! M40 Simon? Let's see, that's M1 down to M25, round to M40. Should be clear of flood water, but what a round-a-bout route.
Maybe Andy's cycle clip idea is the better option.

Now what about some imput from JCC he lives not far away and is on my shorter route to the pub, or is he incommunicado due to severe flooding?

Look forward to seeing you all there.

Bob.

PS; Simon I will swap the cold drink for some incriminating photo's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some considerable time ago I launched a Caption Competition on the site and asked Mary to judge the winner, the prize on offer was a fine A4 photo of the winner's choice from my vast collection. Since a certain L Sebba was awarded the accolade by the judge I have not been able to present the gentleman with his prize due to a lack of communication from Mr Sebba as to his preferred image. Therefore I have chosen what I consider to be an appropriate subject and will be presenting this, with due ceremony, at the Leathern Bottle on Saturday should Mr Sebba be in attendance. I trust that all members will dress in a manner in keeping with the occasion.

This is the Environment Agencies web site and gives detail of floods, potential floods, and it looks pretty good for the Bottel gathering. Well as far as I am concerned anyway.

Pietro Il Composto, It would not be fitting to reveal details of the award prior to the ceremony, however, you may rest assured that the picture is in the public domain and quite suitable for viewing by those of a delicate disposition.

Hi to all who made the Leatherne Bottle,

It was lovely to meet you on Saturday and you made John and I so welcome. We look forward to meeting up over the course of the season starting probably with the trackday at Snetterton on 25th March. I apologise in advance for my not remembering names and faces, it was quite daunting trying to keep up, but over the months, I'm sure my memory will improve somewhat!

Best regards

Alan

John - Thanks for organizing, Bob thanks for the framed photo, and Mark thanks for the photo you gave me. For those who weren’t there – lots of Audis, a few Mogs -including Moss Box +8 and the Mountains in their real +4, a genuine Mille Miglia Sunbeam, and a very nice pre war Bentley, and John E in his cycle outfit (so presumably arrived by bike).

Despite Andy Green’s reassurance that the roads were clear the Mountains ‘trialled’ their car through a closed road (I think near Chez Green) and arrived with very wet legs having forgotten that the Mog floor is not waterproof =D>

I was too modest even to mention my ancient Disco – complete with labradoodle :)
