I think this is a win all round
The council will receive income by way of landlords rent, the ratepayers of Brighton will not be sponsoring or subsidizing the event, the safety issues are directed away from the council, and now subject to the Safety Advisory Groups deliberations, the motor club has full financial responsibility for the event, and has also to indemnify the council against any claims arising , AND
The event is able to proceed for another 3 years for the public to enjoy!
I know the motor club don't seem to have mentioned these points in their press report, but hey....
It just now needs people to turn up to enjoy the event so that the motor club at least breaks even financially.
A good result!

Re: Brighton Speed Trials
Great news!
Now where is SPA 7 the stripped down 1951 Plus 4 'special' of Peter Gammon?
He competed with it successfully at Brighton Speed Trials a number of times in the Fifties.
Be nice to have it back this year...
Cheers
Mark
